Interesting late season catch..

Reedy, 25, handled all the Bucs' punt and kickoff returns in the first nine games this season, including a 44-yard punt return and 50-yard kickoff return.

Sounds like a PR/KR who will get a chance to relieve Dion and Danny of these duties.
2014 NFL Draft Profile: Bernard Reedy

I’m not sure that we’d want these duties to be taken over, would we? The injuries are the obvious concern, but knowing Belichick, they probably aren’t going anywhere.

Great to have someone else brought in who can take over in a pinch, should the need arise, though.

Probably but who knows?
"New England ranks 27th in the NFL in kickoff return average and 27th in punt return average."

Neither DA nor DLew is an iron man and both are being used more on offense. Dorsett could be replaced by a guy who gets actual touches and spares one or both returners. Wouldn't surprise me.

I didn’t realize those averages were anywhere near that low. That’s surprising to me.

That's what I get for trusting the posted article. Return averages are 3rd for KRs and 5th for PRs.

That sounds much better to me.

I like the idea of having a sure-handed experienced PR with Danny, particularly for punts inside of the 20. I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more caution as opposed to playing with the usual reckless attitude that’s often needed to make such plays. Maybe it all comes down to blind luck, though.

We may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves here with Reedy.

He may merely have been signed for an extended tryout. It's getting to be that time of year when the Pats start collecting guys they want to hold over on futures contracts.

He may also have been signed for a specific scout team purpose. He kind of duplicates the skill set for McCarron. Perhaps McCarron hasn't worked out well, or perhaps he's been poached by another team and we just haven't heard about it yet (lotta PS poaching going around the league recently).

An imminent promotion to the active roster to "fix" the return game may be among the least likely possibilities.

I'm sure it's more of an insurance policy than a thought that we are going to change up the return game.

No transaction with Reedy yet as of Wednesday morning.

Paperwork may have been delayed, though I saw at least one tweet speculating that it may have been an unfounded rumor.

So Eric Lee made his reputation with Bill because he destroyed Conor (Bill traded UP to draft this stiff?!?) McDermott…terrific.

Dude, wasn't McDermott a 6th round pick in 2017 ? Let's not get crazy yet that the guy got beat in an exhibition game. Remember when the whole board hated Cannon ? Now look at him (when healthy).

Well, Lee handled McDermott they way any decent DE should.

Not sure I'd go so far as to assume that Lee has a "stellar reputation" with BB, but he may be viewed by BB as an upgrade to Marsh with more long-term upside.

Well, he's on the Bills now so we have no reason to pretend he has All Pro potential.

What?? You mean to tell me LT pt.II was on some Teams Practice squad?? Based off what he did against us he would lead the NFL in sacks. BB the GM I tell you is unmatched with his late season moves.
