Tyrod Taylor Benched

Maybe the coaches really like what they see in Peterman at practice

So AFC contender to QB controversy/benching in three weeks.............just goes to show how quickly things change in the NFL (and this one didn't include an injury).

Pretty easy to see why they did it. They are hoping lightning strikes and Peterman gives the offense a spark and if he doesn't well then they are in the same spot they were with Taylor but also it helps them assess their QB situation. Taylor is definitely gone. Now they give Peterman 7 games to see what he is and if they don't like it likely gonna be taking a QB in the 1st round.

I heard the Bills fans were cheering when Peterman came on to the field.

Pretty much a tank job, with the tiny chance of upside if Peterman catches fire. Giving him some NFL reps will let them know if can slot in as a NFL backup or starter or none of the above.

In any case, this is a sign that they're done with Taylor.

It is strange that they are making this move now. They are 5-4 and still in at least the Wild Card hunt. Why blow it all up now? It was one bad loss to a good team. Seems like an overreaction. Even if you think you are not beating the Pats any time soon, you could still end up with a 10-6 or 9-7 record and make the playoffs. Curious tactics my dear Watson!

I don't think it's an overreaction. Tyrod Taylor sucks.

You know, I don't understand why the Bills announced this. They should have kept this under wraps right up until Peterman takes 1st team snaps pre-game. Shock and awe!

As someone who has seen a lot of Bills game (as we get them rammed down our throat in Toronto), here is the problem with Tyrod Taylor.

upside, he has a pretty good arm and is quick on his feet, and can keep plays alive

downside, poor decision making, slow on his progressions, and only throws to a receiver if that receiver is 5 yds open.
he's afraid to throw into tight coverage.

Against the Jets, he had a free play (Jets had 12 men on the field), and he threw it 20 yds out of bounds.
To me, that is a QB who is not situationally aware and makes poor decisions

Never win is strong, they probably have to go 9-7 to get in the playoffs and that is not a crazy idea despite getting blowout by a good Saints team.
Where do you see 4 wins?

2 vs patriots
2 vs Miami
At chargers and chiefs
Home vs colts.

Looks like a 2-5 or at best 3-4.

It seems to me that Buffalo just wants to see what they got. Can't blame them; they're not exactly Super Bowl bound. We, of all people, know that a late-round QB playing well is not exactly unheard of. Maybe he is impressing in practice.
