thank god no more Allen unless 3 TE at the goal line. imagine these 3 tight ends blocking at the goal line
Per Miguel, essentially no cost ($723k vs FA deal) if released before next year and gain control of player who cannot negotiate with another team.I'm not surprised he's returning to N.E.. I am surprised they claimed him off waivers.
My guess is that, to some teams in the AFC, he is worth the 700K even to just stash on the weekly inactive list in order keep him from pairing with Gronk for the rest of the season.
I don't think the issue is "them" it is "us".

That Adam Shefter account is fake
You missed the point completely. By his head not being right, I was referring to him overestimating his worth on the free-agent market and ultimately (reportedly) signing for less money with Green Bay vs. staying in New England, with whom he enjoyed an established role and had won a championship.Signing with a contender that needs a TE means and has a top three QB means "his head isn't right"? You realize teams besides besides the Pats win championships, right?
He played hard while he was here, he kept his mouth shut and he played hurt when we needed him most. How is that not a Patriot? And what does that even mean? This is a team that signed Albert Haynseworth and Michael Floyd, to name a couple. A good Patriot is someone who can help the team win, who can do all the things Bennett did last year.
This also has nothing to do with people liking him personally. I'm not a big fan of Gronk. I think he's an idiot. But he's the best TE in football, so I want him here. That's all this is. Bennett, if healthy, is vastly superior to any TE we have now behind Gronk. This is especially important considering how our WRs are dropping like flies. We can use help. Waiting for Allen or Hollister to get it in the next eight weeks is a terrible plan if we have better options.
