NFL Week 9 Games

Redzone is really pushing the 'the NFL is patriotic' thing.

I don't mind the NFL's military worship. I don't mind that they're going overboard on the 'we stand for the anthem' stuff.

What I do mind is that somehow the people whose main complaint is that Kaepernik and his ilk have made things 'political' won't consider this big push the NFL is doing (and to some degree have done for years now) as being political as well.
From a business standpoint, they’re trying to win back the Baby Boomers and the righties they’ve lost in the last two years. Valiant effort, really, but it’s probably too little, too late for that audience.

Yeah especially given that they're so fake about it.

This is from a few years ago but if anything's changed since then, it's only because they were exposed and shamed

And it's a dumb idea because they have also lost folks who are mad about Kap. They aren't talked about as much because they aren't as vocal but really no one wins there. Leave it to the NFL to not realize that either though.

This! This will be Allen's breakout week!!!!

Eagles look unstoppable...they will be in the super bowl.
I don't know...Chiefs beat em'... they beat Chargers by 2, Panthers by 5, other teams they've won against- Giants, Redskins x2, 49ers, and most likely Broncos today...
I wouldn't call them unstoppable. They definitely have referees on their side, which is helpful.

The Saints are nasty

It's never easy playing in Denver, regardless of how the team is doing. It's kind of like playing a divisional game, where anything can happen because of home field advantage.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we won by single digits next week up there. As long as they come out healthy.

Are the jags being overlooked as one of those teams in contention for the top seed.

What is Winston is doing?? Isn't he injured???!! Bucs are embarrassing themselves. Koetter is losing control! Cheap shot by Evans on Lattimore. Disgusting.

Seemed pretty easy last year.

I am trying to watch Denver vs Philadelphia (the only game offered here) and the video intermittently cuts out as though I am trying get an internet stream when I am in fact watching cable tv. What gives???

Yeah

What they're doing is marketing, not politics, and the marketing sucks because it doesn't deal with the political issue, at all, and it's specifically the political issue that is the problem marketing is trying to fix. An attempt to paper over politics is not politics, and doing it as cynically as the league is trying to is likely to bring more backlash.

I wish they would come out like the eagles did today. That building has never been easy for TB.

Bingo.

EDIT: I’m going to leave it at that. Do not want another thread to devolve into politics

NFL is now the UFC. Where is Brock Lesnar at?
