The outcome wasn't ideal but it isn't all bad news. On paper the Steelers should have easily beat Detroit. Their strengths matched right into Detroit's weaknesses.
Yet Detroit had the ball goal to go to take a 2 or 3 point lead with =<2 minutes remaining. Pitt never was up by more than one score. Detroit is a mediocre team that the best team in the AFC (some would argue) should have put away by quarter 4.
Maybe the national game aura, indoors etc etc reasons made this an anomaly. But this outcome is worth keeping an eye on that Pitt couldn't in any way whatsoever dominate a team they should have at least beat comfortably.
Such a strange game. If you played it 100 times with that general flow of action, Pitt gets blown out 50 and they lose at least 80. They just made a few high leverage plays with several assists from several unforced errors in Detroit's part.
Alex Smith is playing the best football of his life, has thrown like 20 TDs 0 INTs so of course Andy Reid gets Tyreek Hill to throw the ball instead and gets it picked off
KC probably needed that turnover, the ****iness was just pouring out of Kelce and Peters. I couldn't believe the way Peters was carrying the ball after that pick.
