Hightower out for the year with a torn pec

OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Another top tier, core player done for the year

I ****ing hate injuries so much

If the Steelers can’t beat them this year with the #1 pass defense, both Brown/Bell healthy, and the Patriots finishing up a stretch of 5 road games in 6 weeks, they should just fire Tomlin and start over.

If you look at their schedule they have played nobody. The AFC north's awful this year. AFC east looks a lot better. They haven't played juggernaut offenses.

Sorry for your loss of Hightower. He is an exceptional LB and well respected in the NFL and NO. Always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Best wishes that he heals fast and maybe back in the season late, and hope NE can find a good replacement.

I wonder how healthy Zack Orr is. The fact that it was a neck injury is scary though.

I'm choosing to look on the bright side: next season, we get Julian and Hightower back after a full year of rest and recuperation. Also, the gif in your signature switches on the joy light in my soul.
There is a small silver lining in that Hightower having a 10 month off-season will give him a chance to heal
all of his issues and be 100% in 2018.

Oh man what a loss, 2 stud players lost to the ir now. Well it sucks obviously, but better to have it happen now than later if we're trying to be optimistic. Bb has half a season to make the adjustments necessary. time for the no name lb crew to step up as a unit

Wow, even our re-signings this offseason have turned out to be bad (Hightower's injury history/age is part of the equation in deciding to extend him or not)

I guess there really wasn't an alternative but this news is not surprising to me at all....

The Patriots agree with you.

If you look at the High contract they totally hedged their bets.

With the exception of Brady, I cannot think of another player in the BB era in which they have doled out a mega deal to a player beyond age 30.

Moss is the only one I can think of, though "beyond 30" and "after their rookie contract" aren't exactly synonymous. NE is still very comfortable handing out a second deal, it's the 3rd one where they generally back away from the table.

Yea Rand was 31. Only can rationalize the signing as he was generational which he was
