Nobody should be really surprised. Branch had this reputation before he arrived in NE, and now he's just reverting to form. Caveat Emptor, Bill.

Cliff who?

Pretty much. I'm still cautiously optimistic that he can be brought around, but won't be shocked if he's released.

He's been fine for 3 years here.

This Homer is getting a 2009 vibe. Hope I'm just over reacting, likely so.

Not me, I think they have plenty of leadership on this team and they will impose their will on the locker room. The question for me is talent, primarily in the front 7. Playing poor QB’s last season masked some of their athletic weaknesses last season, and so far this season they just aren’t getting it done. Whether or not they can coach their way through this will be the essential question for this season. Ultimately i trust Beluchick to get it working enough to be there at the end.

captain stone has had innumerable imbecilic posts here, but that just might be the worst. No offense, captain,SIR.

That’s simply not true at all, in fact all you have to do is look at the number of posts Captain Stone has made and you get the exact number of imbecilic posts he has made. It’s easy math.

Yep. It's just The Captain being The Captain. It's all good

Getting more granular into the numbers may prove Branch is singular to the porous D stat. But to be fair anyone who played in the Bucs game probably saw their 'when on the field' D numbers improve.
Regardless, we know Branch is capable of much better play. I suspect this is simply a 'does he want it bad enough to give 100% on the field, in weight room, in the film room, at practice etc'.
Too bad his new contract didn't incentivize more than 400k per year. $$$ is an amazing motivator...

He wasn't that great his first year.
He was better than he is now. Plus he waa new and played less as the team had VW, Seal, Chris Jones and Easly.

Captain Stone has a way of bluntly stating the truth. People rail and whine and fume but he's almost always right.

Prophets are like that. They're not recognized as such except in hindsight.

I suppose if you look inside the numbers you will find a few big plays which vs his small sample of snaps are distorting the numbers.
Whether he was heavily accountable for those plays would be the question
