Stats are for losers. Up by two scores, BB is always going to allow yardage. He wins. So - while things on D were much more tight overall, Winston still managed almost 300 yards. But that in itself doesn't even come close to giving someone the true feel of this game.

As I think back I am not surprised as much that the O only put up 19 points. They played their hearts out 4 days ago and this is such a short week to prepare especially for a road game

Some of you need to get a grip. if you asked me last sunday if the pats scored only 19 would they win I would have laughed at you.

But, they won this week with their defense carrying them. You need to win games like this sometimes. and considering the dumpster fire the defense has been this is great to see, and shows me they will get it together.

The offens will be fine. they scored 30+ the last 4 weeks. the OL just needs to get it together. and I trust that Scar will correct the issues they have.

I said the defense would have a big game and they did. You gotta admit though that Winston missed some throws. We caught some breaks

I don't care if it's by 50 points or 1 point or Nick Folk, a win is a win, our defense definitely improved, and our offense was moving great in the early going just couldn't turn it into points and seemed to go conservative once the O-line totally caved. Happy to get a win, Thursday's are aberrations.

That said, I think this team, really, REALLY, needs these 10 days off.

How was the game thread? Are we gonna have a best of this week?

Atleast Winston looked like a good nfl qb instead of an all pro like the first 4.

Wasnt pretty but it was something to build on. Was able to keep Mike Evans in check.
TB has a good defense so the score wasn't surprising. Would of liked to have seen a better showing in the 4th but I'll settle for a win, could of been ugly. Like 2-3 ugly.

Not pretty but this was a Patriots' D coming off a poor performance(s). Tonight they held the Bucs to their lowest point total of the season, If you give the Bucs the 3 points for the easy missed FG (they don't get credit for the 56 yard attempt), it still ties the Bucs' lowest point total of the season (against the New York Giants).

The Patriots' O scored only 19 points. Except for the pathetic Bear's O (scoring only 7) that is the next worst offensive showing against the Bucs this season.

No matter how you slice it -- Bucs self inflicted wounds included(we had plenty of our own to even that front) -- this was a major! win for the Patriots' D (and a sorely needed one). Patriots now have several days of self scouting type practicing they can do before gameplan practice for a game against a mediocre at best Jets offense.

I blame the following villains for this awful win:

a) the defense of course
b) the national anthem
c) fate
d) probably the officials
69) Goodell
f) the national anthem again
g) my dad. no, **** you dad
8) danny amendola, who's always hurt
9) dion lewis, who's always hurt
561) matt patricia
13) cyrus jones
m) stephon gilmore
z) that's right, it's the national anthem
15) stephon gilmore
16) stephon gilmore

They definitely played better, although they had nowhere to go but up.

And yea, it's hard to deny the help from some missed throws, Nick Folk, and that dropped TD from Brate. Merely pointing this out will anger some people.

quarterbacks miss throws every game. Brady missed a wide open Hogan and ended up throwing an interception, he also missed cooks wide open on a 3rd down

This game was a really important one. All I wanted going in was the defense to play better and win. Both accomplished. I will happily take that.

Lots of third down stops. Sure the Bucs left some plays out there, most notably a would be TD to Jackson. But they also did a lot of good.

The big issue tonight for me was the OL. Brady really can't sustain being hit like this. They sucked again. Solder is playing awful. This has to be fixed.

Gilmore and Chung both played very good. Encouraging moving forward.

Cowher called out Folk in the pregame.
Closest on score too

Happier Gilmore tonight
Almost Happy
