Dwayne Allen

Good News it went down to 9 in week 4

Yes, it did. And that was a good thing. We decided to run more 3 WR sets. Somehow, I think that Hogan, Cooks and Amendola/Dorsett is a good idea. We also ran some sets with 2 RB's or a RB plus a FB.

Allan may or may not improve. And, yes, he is an expensive insurance policy. It does show us just how important Gronk's blocking is to the team. Having a top level blocking back is important. We have an inexpensive backup for Gronk as a move TE (in Hollister)

I don't see that we have a problem, other than Brady and Allan aren't on the same page yet.

I thought that the throw was just bad. Now maybe Allen was supposed to run his route differently, but it is really hard to tell without knowing how that play is supposed to be run.

It is against patsfans rules to account any blame to Brady, for anything.

Turns out he's human, and at age 40 people are increasingly afraid to admit it because they're worried it means admitting he's fading. Which is silly. He's thrown bad passes throughout his career, and the Patriots have, believe it or not, even had to punt even in record-breaking offensive years.

He had a few bad passes yesterday. The throw to Allen was one of them. Could he have made the catch? Maybe, but it would have been exceptionally difficult, and there was no reason not to hit him in the chest.

Did the ball hit Allen in his hands? Yes or no?
Yes it did, and if Allen, who was just standing there waiting for the ball took a few steps back towards his scrambling QB, it would have been a nice completion and I would have had to eat a little bit of crow. Instead Allen remained true to form and unable to be even a decent receiver. However, if I was BB I would put aside any worries about Allen and focus instead on my horrendous D. Even though Allen has shown nothing (or I guess maybe good blocking according to some), the O is still putting up decent points.

lol at you guys think that missed connection was Allen's fault and not Brady's
Brady was scrambling and Allen was just standing there with no defenders around him. He waited for the ball instead of coming back to get it. He can't adjust. He's a highly paid TE. He's supposed to be able to do that. Brady isn't always going to be able to make the perfect throw. In fact if he's going to ole Alligator Arms he's probably a 3rd or 4th read, and the guy will have to adjust. He can't do it.

Agreed. Allen is being paid like a really good starter, yet only plays 9 snaps per game

Let's hope so, particularly with Gronk apparently banged up.

Deb lets not push it Dwayne Allen have not checked the boxes...he's been a Below Average Blocker and haven't shown any hands to date...his struggles from TC now regular season continues.
