Can we not give up on Tom Brady after one game?

He was ok. Not great. Not awful

The stats show the yards he threw for would be a bit more than his career average (that would be 6th best all-time). He didn't turn the ball over. So the only difference from having around his career 97 passer rating are a few incompletions while he was getting sacked 3 times late and three TD passes gobbled up by cheap running play calls for 2, 2 and 1 yard respectively.

We passed the ball 36 times for 267 yards. We ran the ball 35 times for 124 yards. The D was pathetic. The only thing we had going on in this one was Brady. The receivers were rarely getting any separation. He's the last person to point any finger at all at.

Sure but he had a very average game.

He'd be first to say his accuracy was off.

Well, you can't go by anything Tom would say. Nothing is ever good enough to him.

An average game from the GOAT is other men's career day.

I've seen this scenario before. Brady is the only one doing anything good on the field and fans complain that he didn't somehow throw for 400 yards and 5 TDs. That's not how it works. If Brady puts up 250 yards or so, doesn't turn it over and has a couple of TD passes (which he should have had, but for 3 cheesy run TDs where he got them there), there shouldn't be a word of complaint.

People's expectations are delusional. Yet we have threads about Brady after the D stunk the entire universe out despite the O getting 27 points. Unreal.

....and those fans are idiots.

With that said he was not his best on Thurs. Thats pretty cut and dry. It's ok to criticize his play and still be a fan.

He Still hung 27 points on them in not one of his best moments....if people want to blame someone J McD might be a good place to start....horrible coaching job by him.....and then move on to Patricia.....coaching was abysmal

Brady played like a sixth round pick Thusrday night. That being said, these people are morons. It's not like he's never had a bad game. All the greats do. Multiple times throughout their careers. Anybody that is calling for him to be benched is not only an imbecile, but not worthy of being called a Patriots fan. If they should be mad at anyone it should be our OC. This offense has routinely put up great numbers in spite of this idiot and his sometimes comically stupid play calling. But for whatever reason, he gets a free pass here.

Brady just brought us 2 more Lombardi's in a 3 year span.
Yea, he's done.
Idiots.

I'm glad people are doubting him. That's what fuels him.
You are right....makes our fan base look like spoiled ***** aholes.....the REAL fans like most of us on here...appreciate EVERY $#%^*!thing TFB has done here in every moment....GREATEST OF ALL TIME....! No one should EVER disrespect not only the greatest QB to ever play....but one of the best sportsmen and ambassadors that sports on ANY level....has ever seen. Those of us that "grew up" at a time when the Patriots were a laughing stock....GET it.....today's generation is spoiled and wants immediate gratification.....GO TFB!!!!!

No he didn't. He played like the GOAT. But I will agree those people are morons.

There is nobody to be mad at but a ****ty defense.
And sh!tty , brain dead coaching

Brady playing like crap still resulted in more points the JG has ever put up in a game.

This is the big one

Right off a cliff

Next week he will look like Ryan leaf

Maybe this is the first real sign that the run is coming to a close. Maybe it's just a sign of a slow start due to a major change in personnel at key positions.

Regardless, I don't care. Seriously. Why? Because the core - the coaching staff, TB12 - is still in place. This group does not condone quitting and will always be more critical of themselves than anyone in the press or this site. They will take the results of their honest self-scouting and turn it into motivation to practice harder, study film more intently, and go that extra step come game day. That has been the hallmark of this team since 2001 and is the one thing that will not stop.

We have no proof to the contrary We have no proof of the premise.

So, get your popcorn ready until the next "Oh shut up" game.

I got auto-drafted this year in fantasy and ended up with Brandin Cook. Haven't put him on the waiver wire yet, just in case you're wondering where my head is at

Seems like a big gripe we used to have is we'd struggle to score when we played these better defenses. Kansas City is a better defense, and we put up 27 on the score board, and realistically should have been 30, 34. Even with the aforementioned issues the offense had Thursday, I'd take 27 every game.

Brady didn't look 40, he just looked out of sync with his offense. The defense is the real question mark right now; I have confidence the offense will right the ship.

My point is, there actually is nothing to criticize. He played a rather typical game for the GOAT, but with TDs he largely created getting snarfed by the running game.

People are spoiled. That's about the only lesson to be learned here.

I could care less about TDs, stats and yards. He missed a few receivers that he would normally hit. The throw beyond the LoS was a brain cramp. It just wasn't his best. It wasn't all his fault but he just off.

Let's just agree to disagree on how well he played. Even GOATs can't be great every game.

Sure but he had a very average game.

This reminds me of 2014 in that Beady struggled early getting on the same page with his receivers, but once he was in sync with them everything worked out fine. Both Dola and Hightower will be back so I think everything will work out in time,

I'm pretty sure I saw Andy Johnson chasing Brady down the interstate with a pitchfork and a torch. I couldn't quite make out what he was yelling, but I did catch phrases like "washed up," and "better a year too soon."

Oddly enough, he was actually wearing both home and away Garoppolo jerseys at the same time.

I think so too. Took some time with LaFell but Cooks is elite.

Worried about DA. He can't handle the kind of punishment JE11 could
