So what are they saying?
That Karras is stupid? Looks like a rock in the middle but cant handle “playcalling“ duties of C . after making him a sole IOL backup in his rookie year?
That Karras is safer bet clearing waivers than Croston?
That keeping 5 tackles beats having a backup C?
That Andrews is an angel . beyond physical misfortune?
That Ferentz is a good enough safety net from PS?
(if you were worried about DL overpowering Andrews wait for Ferentz freeways)
That all people impressed by Karras are stupid?

I mean, someone has to be stupid here..

Ok, im going to sleep now but when i wake up Karras better be on the roster!

So, you sleep past noon? Karras might make it through waivers.

There are only 4 OT's. If Garcia were to become active, we would very likely drop Waddle in a heartbeat.

A. If they kept Karras over Waddle they would have
1 backup C (Karras)
2 backup G (Karras, Croston)
2 backup T (Fleming, Croston)

B. Now they have
0 backup C
1 backup G (Croston)
3 backup T (Fleming, Waddle, Croston)

Of course Thuney is a C option . but he's no backup, he has to be removed from his top position he glued in and be placed to a weaker position he was not practicing/playing for 2 years.

With option A you're just replacing pieces. With option B you have to move original pieces around. We know how that went in 2015..

I don't know what end OL picture they have in mind but at the moment i dont like it.

Probably says something about Solder, no?

It's baffling, no question. I had been beating the drum for Croston, but that was partly to prevent Karras from being the sole backup for 3 positions. It never for a moment occurred to me that the player who had been the #1 IOL backup throughout camp would be cut.

This story has to develop somehow, right?

It's an outright disgrace karras is,cut and someone like richards who is so atrocious he shouldn't be allowed in the stadium isn't. If i were karras i'd quit football before i played for the pats again. Totally spit in his face. Guy lives and breathes football so they cut him in favor of the latest second round blunder.

I hope richards gets some good playing time and embarrasses them so badly it's on espn. Joke.

Richards isn't playing IOL this year, is he?

this roster doesn't look as good as it did 1 month ago to me...

most of that is due to edelman, rivers and slater injuries

but some of it is due to not having seen Wise, not having a #3 QB, not upgrading S, no Karras, PR/KR ?s still...

we'll see what it looks like before thursday's game, id assume there will be like 5 diff players by then

Jordan Richards over Ted Karras. A sign of the impending apocalypse.

Jordan Richards over Ted Karras. Start building the ark.

I just thought this might mean cut for Bolden and I was correct.

To your statement, I could just as well say, do you know that Burkhead doesn't duplicate some of Bolden's ST functions?
How many forced fumbles does Burkhead have? Bolden has three. Has Burkhead ever blocked a punt before, because Bolden has. Has Burkhead ever played as the personal punt protector before?

Again--just because Burkhead has the capacity to make ST tackles doesn't necessarily mean that he can play the exact same role as Bolden, or do it as effectively. To Burkhead's credit, he seems to have offered something on four different ST units, and I'm pretty sure Bolden has only played on two. Maybe that was enough for Belichick to take a chance since Burkhead obviously offers more on offense?

We'll know soon enough, but I'm expecting him to return soon. Maybe I am wrong, though.

This whole day has been baffling to me. Karras being cut... I really don't get it.

You'd think, after 5 Super Bowls, and 2 in 3 years people would actually not freak out about the roster. I have a healthy belief that Bill and Caserio actually have somewhat of an idea about what's right for this team.

If he cut Karras, and kept Richards, so be it. If he cut Bolden so be it. Pretty sure he's earned the right to build the team as he sees fit.
