Broncos name Siemian starting QB

The way I see things the Broncos D will carry them to a decent start and then slowly fade away when their O is exposed for not scoring enough points.

The Broncos' secondary is still scary good, but their front 7 isn't really intimidating anymore. Wolfe is the only DL that's better than league-average, and while Miller is insanely good and Ray is promising, their pass rushing depth is pretty much gone with Ware's retirement. Even Shaq Barrett, who isn't that great to begin with, is trying to come back from a hip injury. Free agency and retirement have wrecked their depth at ILB and on the edge.

on the broncos board they are comparing sieman's stats in 2016 to brady's in 2001, saying they are similar.

It's a cute comparison until you weight them against league averages. Everyone comparing young QBs now to great pre-2005 QBs needs to read this: Barnwell: How the 'average' NFL QB has changed dramatically

If your QB was really as good as 2001 Brady, he'd be crushing 2001 Brady's stats, not kinda sorta being almost comparable if you squint hard enough. That's how much the passing game has changed: decent QBs put up stats that rival great QBs of the past now. Guys like Andy Dalton and Matt Stafford are going to finish their careers with volume passing stats on par with all-time great, HoF QBs who played their careers pre-2005.

If Siemian played in 2001, he'd be in real danger of having <50% completions and more picks than TDs.

So I guess he should wind up with 6 rings too. Perfect logic.
