I have taken multiple courses in the area which is probably why it's very easy for me to understand where you're having a total failure in applying it. This isn't that hard. I'll even number them in order to help you...Well then you need to take a course in logical reasoning. The question you asked was:
"do you really expect Brady to come out and announce his actual retirement plans and date/age?"
Saying no, I "don't expect something" hardly equates to "you, yourself, think Brady has been less than honest when he's said in the past that he plans to play until 45." Saying he intends to play until at least age 45 hardly equates to "announcing his actual retirement plans."
Take a course in logic to understand how your deductions of what I said are epic fail.
Holy f**** why don't we just sit back and wait and see what happens? It's not like all this stress we're putting ourselves through trying to read the tea leaves of sentence or two is going change anything. It is what it is or in this case what ever happens, happens.
Well, since Brady speaks I'd like some clarification on the whole "Holy ****" scenario. Is that different than say "Kosher ****" or "Agnostic ****" etc? Or is it conjured because you believe Brady walks on water? And since we are there with the "Holy" exclamatory, what about "Holy ****?"Holy f**** why don't we just sit back and wait and see what happens? That's what I'm doing. I've always been of the opinion that none of us will have any idea of when he's going to hang them up because he'll never say it up front. The team and their press conferences have always been all about relative amounts of subterfuge and that includes Brady. He could retire at 45, he could retire at 49, he could retire at the end of 2017. We don't know. That's why this is ultimately a pointless exercise in futility.
I'd be interested in watching if you happen to come across a link. I wonder how it would compare to the majority of other NFL QB's? I'd have to imagine that guys like Favre, Young, etc have had multiple concussions, as well, but I obviously don't know that for a fact.Anyone else just watch the segment on BST with Curran, Holley and Giles about Brady and concussion history? Interesting and revealing. According to Holley and Curran, it's certainly more substantial than I ever realized.
I'll let you know if I see it. CSNNE runs a very early morning (5-6 am) highlights hour each morning of the prior night's show. They didn't focus on a particular number of episodes, but they spoke of some specific games where it was pretty clear, at least to them, that he likely suffered a concussion. I found it particularly interesting that Curran said he covered an event on athletic concussions at Boston University (where a very large part of the research has been, and continues to be, done) and Brady's father was there and told Curran he was there due to specific concerns about his son's concussion history.I'd be interested in watching if you happen to come across a link. That's one of the places where your fundamental logical skills are lacking.I have taken multiple courses in the area which is probably why it's very easy for me to understand where you're having a total failure in applying it. This isn't that hard. I'll even number them in order to help you...
1. Brady says he plans to play until 45. Therefore, he plans to retire at that age.
Again, you're putting words in my mouth.2. You answer my question in the negative, that you don't believe he'll tell us before he truly plans to retire.
I choose to believe what comes out of a woman's mouth; not what her Husband says she feels when the possible answer could disrupt the team and create doubt that Brady is there for the next few seasons.
I still go by my original thoughts we are in uncharted waters with Brady playing like the GOAT at his age.
Let's see this season, as the possible hits and fatigue set in and then when next offseason starts; what the Team does in context with possibly extending Brady or extending, trading, Franchising, or letting Jimmy walk.
Actions speak much louder than words.
If I'm not mistaken you have made posts in other threads conjecturing he may retire after this year. If that's not what you are saying, what exactly are you saying. You're constructing a straw man here. And a very flimsy one at that. Where did I say he's retiring? What I said was this was nothing more than a political statement in which he in no way made any guarantees about playing until 45 (although you seem to be taking it that way) and also left himself quite a bit of wiggle room in the process. As Deus said, he said nothing. I'll ask you again: do you really expect the guy to tell the world when he ACTUALLY plans to retire?
This is where you get crazy.I'm hardly putting words in your mouth. You answered my question in the resounding negative. That means that you, yourself, think Brady has been less than honest when he's said in the past that he plans to play until 45. He himself, at that point, was effectively giving the world a retirement date. He's now almost begun to walk that back as even in the quote he doesn't sound as sure anymore. And no, this is not a man that will announce his retirement before it happens. The team will know it and his family will know it. We will have no idea.
Not true my comment was we don't know it is uncharted waters with Brady. You also choose to completely ignore what comes out of Brady s mouth as well as he actions. He says he wants to keep playing into his mid forties and works his ass off year round every year to be able to do just that. You also ignore his play, which keeps getting better each season. And you also ignore his durability, as Brady endured a hit from Kam Chancellor that would have ended most player's seasons, whereas Garrapolo couldn't make it through one hit and two games when was needed for four. Basically you ignore everything and anything that doesn't line up with your desire to see the Patriots dump Brady for Garrapolo.
