We should count our blessings we can have this debate. Do you guys not remember how worse off our wrs were just a few years ago that we had to actually use slater as one?

Wait, now its Russ Francis is a more complete player than Kevin Faulk? The same Kevin Faulk who was one of the most clutch 3rd down backs in the game, an elite blocker, a special teams ace and as BB often said "one of the best leaders the organization ever had."

The same Kevin Faulk who AVERAGED over 10 more yards from the line of scrimmage per game over his entire career than Russ Francis.

The only person who would claim this is someone who does not watch the game, nor know anything about it.

Yes.... the same Kevin Faulk who was suspended the first game of the 2008 season for getting high at a lil Wayne concert.

Do you remember that game against the chiefs? If he was on the field, maybe we would not have lost Brady for the season, because I believe Faulk would have made that block.

The fact that you think that part time player Kevin Faulk was a better player than "All World " Russ Francis says a lot about your football knowledge.

Francis was an excellent TE who was on the pro bowl team 3 years in a row.

Howard Cosell use to call Francis a "All World" Tight End.

How many pro bowls did Faulk make?

You claimed Faulk was not a "complete player" Sorry but once again you are proven wrong. Francis was a great TE but that dosent take away from what Faulk did here for 13 years.

If you are so sure Francis is due for HOF and Faulk isnt lets put up a poll on this site and let the users vote.

Faulk was not a 3 down back, so how can you say he was a complete player?

Why don't you post the question on who was the better all around player
Faulk or Francis? Do not attach a poll to it, to eliminate the Koolaid voters.

Let people explain there answer....

Any idiot can voted on a blind poll without explaining why they voted the way they did.

There are far too many Koolaid drinkers in this forum who never heard of Russ Francis for me to value a blind poll.

Go ahead.... I dare you to post it.
Let everyone know how little you know.

I give you my word I will respond in detail.

You're right. Faulk was one of the best pass protecting running backs of all-time. He definitely would have made that block.

He wasn't a 3-down back. He was a 4-down back.

He returned kicks and punts.

He also made special teams tackles, so he should be a borderline hall of famer like Andrew Hawkins.

So do you believe Kevin Faulk was a better football player than Russ Francis?

He was an excellent 3rd down back, & if he was not suspended for the first game of 2008, I believe we would not have lost Brady for the season.

He was just not an everydown back, And should never have been elected to the Patriots HOF before Russ Francis.

The people who voted for Faulk would probably vote Avery Bradley over Bill Russell as best Celtic defensive player all time.

He was just not an everydown back, And should never have been elected to the Patriots HOF before Russ Francis.

Faulk played nearly twice as many seasons with the Patriots as Francis and had more than twice as many receptions in a Patriots uniform (and nearly 40 more receptions over his career).

And that's before even mentioning rushing since Faulk was, you know, a running back. Or the fact that he played major roles on three Super Bowl champions and two runners-up.

So, yeah, it seems completely reasonable to think Faulk belonged in the Patriots Hall of Fame before Francis. Pro Football Reference gives Faulk a weighted AV of 56 and Francis a 45.

...are you Russ Francis, by any chance, or just a crotchety old guy grumbling about the kids and their goddamn good-for-nothing weed-smoking third-down back?

Wilfork played a position that is judged by the eye not by the stats.

He was a beast on our DL for years, but if you look through the archives, I was one of a few who believed Wilfork needed to take a major pay cut, because he was not the player he use to be.

Kevin Faulk was a great third down back, but he was never a good 3 down back.

Why, so you think Faulk was a superstar???

Too be honest I have no idea how Faulk made the Patriots HOF.

Don't let the fact Faulk is in the Patriots HOF cloud your vision.
There are a lot better players not yet in the Patriots HOF.

The Koolaid drinking voters, just remember Faulk & forget or never heard of a guy named Russ Francis.

Do you think Faulk should have got in the Patriots HOF before a complete player like Russ Francis????

Kevin Faulk made the PHOF because if the quality of his touches, not the number of them. And most Patriot fans who watched them win 3 Super Bowls with him in the backfield know that he made big play after big play for them year after year, and while he'll never be in the PHOF the same can be said of Amendola. Both are as clutch as it gets, and both earned Brady's trust to the point where he turned to them repeatedly to keep both games and seasons alive. Amendola never lived up to his original deal, but he bought in, took big pay cuts, and never complained and consistently delivered for them.you can take the shiney new object all you want, I'll take the proven clutch team player.

I think they should use the day Kraft bought the team as the line of demarcation and have an old timer inducted and a Flying Elvis Patriot inducted every year. It's simply too unfair to the old time Patriots not to.

Francis 92

What no list of fumbles?

You dope.... Francis played in a different eta, when it was a running league & the rules werw not setup to help the QB & passing game.

I can't believe the Koolaid drinkers in this forum.

Faulk carried the ball an average of 5 times a game over his career.

Brady got David Givens 7 playoff touchdown. Amendola & Faulk are just JAG's who capitalized by playing with Brady.

If Francis played with Brady he would be a hell of a lot more valuable than Amendola & Faulk combined.

Faulk was more valuable to the patriots than Russ Francis.

Imagine what Russ Francis would have done playing with Brady.

How many pro bowls did Faulk & Amendola make?

Faulk was better

Faulk was better

Let me guess, you think Avery Bradley was a better defender than Bill Russell too.

Faulk was a part time player who could not hold onto the ball early in his career. He only averaged 5 carries per game in his career.

If he was so valuable, why didn't he ever make the pro bowl?

How good can you be if Maroney plays in front of you?

I'm confused about the Francis v. Faulk debate. Francis was a better player than Faulk. Faulk did more for the Patriots, at least partly because of Francis heading off to San Francisco, at least partly because of the era Francis played in, and at least partly because, ironically, while Francis was hampered in any attempt to put up numbers by being on a run oriented version of the Patriots, the RB (Faulk) was fortunate enough to be on a version of the team that loved to use the short pass as a run substitute.

So, what's the issue?

Hawkins hasent really had more production than DA especially given his opportunities. Also, Hawkins barely plays special teams while DA is an elite special team player who lead the league in punt returns just 2 years ago.

How does Hawkins bring more special team value????
Agree with everything except the word elite
