There are at least 10-12 players on the C's roster I would gladly jettison before letting Smart go. Sure he is a flopper and can't shoot to save his life, but those issues are far outweighed IMO by the value he brings to the team with his versatile defensive skills and the numerous Tommy Points he routinely racks up on both ends of the court.

Really hope the C's somehow land the #1 pick despite the overwhelming odds against them. Fultz would such be a huge addition to this lineup. Would be great to add him to Zizic, Yabu, Nader and hopefully another quality FA, while cleaning out the some of incredible amounts of dead wood the C's are carrying (for a 53-win team).

No, THAT's crazy (unless Smart's one of the only players you've ever seen period -- I'm assuming that is not the case). Whatever you want to say about the rest of his game, he is objectively an elite defender, an above-average post scorer and an elite post passer. The Celtics (and the NBA generally) are loaded with players with no elite skills.

so is it just me or have the refs forgotten what the rule book is when they travel to washington? i swear theyve been **** every single game there

how do you not call interference when someone touches the ball IN the basket? or when the 24 sec violation clock rings out, but someone puts the ball in right after WITH a foul????

Oh the refs are letting them play.. The Celtics are leading shooting 3/16 from 3 point land lol.. and like 33% from the field. The Celts are gonna have to start hitting some shots if they are gonna win this game.

If he's one of the worst players you've ever seen, you haven't seen many. Smart is an outstanding defender, terrific rebounding guard and a guy who gives max effort every second. He's also a horrid shooter, overly-emotional and unreliable. Overall? Average.

Would not surprise me if Danny's idea. Totally against everything the Celtics stand for. As always, totally disagree with Michael Holley, and totally agree with Tom Heinsohn and Tom Curran.

To elaborate, it will only fire up the Wizards. It's a stupid thing to do in the first place - see NY Giants, '08. And, unlike when they played the Redskins only a month or so before, right after Sean (Model Citizen) Taylor's death, they did that upon arriving in Arizona before the Patriots' last game of a season which they dedicated to Marquise Hill, who saved a young woman's life before losing his own.

To top it all off, this within days of our own guy IT tragically losing his young sister.

Red's turned over in his grave. Like he has often under Danny.
