Are these announcers being fed the names before they are announced? It happened before and I hope not. It ruined the experience as they spoiled every pick.

At the start of the show, Rich Eisen said NFL network guys are not on social media and not getting names whispered to them in their earpiece. And they've been wrong on the pick more often than usual in the early parts of the draft.

I think the better question is "why are teams willing to give up this much for these QBs ?" - I thought this was the weakest QB class in recent memory.

How are the two situations remotely similar? Manning already had several neck surgeries before he was lost for the season. Polian went into the season with a 4th string quality QB as his primary back up.

But why give up the potential for two or three quality starters (possibly Pro Bowlers or All Pros) for insurance for a QB who hasn't missed a game due to injuries in nearly a decade for one season?

And again, who knows if Garoppolo could lead the Patriots to a Super Bowl.

Your chances of winning a SB are better with Jimmy than Brisket.

It's the most important position and why have a single point of failure?

It's all about risk management at this point with a loaded team

Yup, except everything is in place for a Superbowl Season, and one blind side of Brady and that would be in severe jeopardy. Thus the need for Jimmy G

You got me there. Brady is made of glass. No way he makes it through the season. It would be stupid to have the chance to draft potentially two or three impact players for this team to be a contender for the next 5-10 years on the chance that not only Brady missing one game due to injury since 2008 , but being lost for the season.

The Pats might as well franchise Garoppolo now for next year because they will need him to back up Brady next year.
