Nothing has changed my mind with this.

Ill take 2 years of Sherm over 1 year of Malcolm.

I'll take 4 years of Malcolm over 2 years of Sherm

I agree with this. Butler is a better cb than Sherman right now IMO and will continue to improve while I think Sherman begins decline.
They're both top 5-7. Butler also fits better with our current personnel.
That being said- if the choice is Malcolm for just one year and then he bolts- yes I'd rather have Sherman for 2.
And I agree if Malcolm would sign long-term,I'd rather have him.
Right now,doesn't look like either will happen though. Probably keep Butler this year- which is awesome- he will have another probowl season and then break the bank next year. He will get more $ than gilmore. That's ok I'll take one more SB win and then let the chips fall where they may.

Sherm is better on the outside but Malcolm is better on the inside and a vastly superior tackler.

Raiders may make a play for Sherman as well if they do they have to be Considered a major superbowl contender

I LOVE Butler, but he is NOT a superior CB to Sherman. Why do you all keep saying that?? What exactly is he better at??? Sherman is an excellent tackler. This is a known fact. He is very physical. We all know he can cover his ass off. Malcolm may be slightly quicker. Sherman is highly intelligent. He has length that Butler will NEVER have. He also played through a pretty severe injury all last season, which hampered him & he STILL had a very good season. Also, nobody is talking about the fear factor from opposing QBs. People throw at Butler with no hestitation. All QBs (even Brady) think twice & even a third time before throwing in Sherman's direction. Sherman is a leader & would fit in great in this locker room. Lastly, imagine Sherman & Belichick's mental harmony on defense.

Sherman (6'3), Gilmore (6'1), and Rowe (6'1) is a pretty darn tall collection for your top 3 corners. You'd better hope one of those three can cover shifty slot receivers.

One guy is not going to fix that terrible defense. And do we even know how good Sherman is. How much of it is him? And how much of it is the system in Seattle? And I'm not even going to mention the steroid and character issues. Raiders are at least 2 offseasons away from being a contender. That defense is a mess.

Sherman's the better CB right now, but I'd still prefer Butler in 17 and then in 18 with the franchise tag. I just think Sherman is a douche. Great player, but don't want him in NE for an extended contract.

Jack Del Rio.. The Raiders will never truly be a contender.. they might make it to the AFC Championship but thats as far as they go.

On another note that must suck for Oakland for after 14-15 years of sucking knowing that the team is good again and they are leaving.

Because Sherman can't play on the inside. Seattle playing more man coverage in the past 2 seasons is what made Sherman look more mortal than in the years before and not the injury.

You already have two outside corners with Rowe and Gilmore. Is Sherman better than at least Rowe ? Of course, but I'd rather go into the season with Butler on board because if Cyrus Jones doesn't get his head straight we still got Malcolm as a potential option inside.

In short, Sherman might be the better player but Butler gives you more flexibility.
