OT: The TV show I work on...DOUBT

I will give it a look due to respect of a fellow Pats poster but I can't promise long term investment in it. I do wish you pitched a non-network show though. Are those harder gigs to get or do you just really want to stick to network as that is where more money is?

At least you didn't recommend Walking Dead that is immediately disqualifying in terms of credibility. I haven't seen Taboo thanks for the tip.

West World. You're welcome.

This, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, Narcos, and Stranger Things, are by far the best shows on TV today.

People should also check out Netflix's new comedy "Santa Clarita Diet." It's f&cking hilarious.

i own a very nice tv. and its never tuned to a network tv show because they are brain rotting crap. there's a great new show on FX. its called taboo with tom hardy a real actor with serious talent. check it out.
Yeah, that's a good one. It took me a few episodes to get into it, but I like it. Oddly, only 2 left. Seemed short to me.

Stand-up. Write write write. Network. And strategically knowing the star of a show that was having trouble. Stick with it. Do you live in L.A.?

Currently New England, but want to move to LA within the next few months.

I've been involved in a few projects myself in the past. Nothing fancy, but have been a start.

Clearly LA is where the action is though. Its just a big move when you don't know many people out on the west coast.

Elementary is pretty good for a network show IMO.

and Two Broke Girls....

Working for CBS if you're into TV is like working for ESPN if you're into sports. You'd be dumb to turn down the opportunity but you shouldn't expect a great product. I say this because CBS seems to be in a very, very bad place with programming right now (besides AFC football!). Bragging about The Big Bang Theory every commercial break...that's gotta be embarrassing.

Unfortunately I can't help with ratings because I only watch things through Netflix/Prime/piracy. Maybe I'll check it out anyway because word of mouth helps if I like it and tell others. Despite ****ting all over CBS, I'm real happy for you, that's a really cool job.

Not all Network shows are bad. I received UV codes for all 3 seasons of Hannibal, an NBC show. I watched episode one and was hooked. I binged watched the entire series and it is now one of my favorite shows.

I usually don't watch network shows anymore now, though. I can't even name a network show that is running these days.

If you have kids Netflix is perfect. We just finished up watching "A series of unfortunate events".

A guy is asking us for help - help that will take nothing more than a few seconds of setting up a DVR recording - and people just have to opine on network TV?

Yeah it's pretty funny in this internet age we can't resist the urge to give opinions even when they weren't really called for.

How long before this thread becomes political. :D

I'll check it out. Good stuff

Hey. I have a plot that might fit a show called "DOUBT".

It entails a football game, a GOAT and a corrupt commissioner. It has lots of twist and turns filled with lies and ignorant accusations that eventually lead to a "vacation". The scientifically ignorant masses cheer as they thought the fraudulent one had finally crucified the great one. But the GOAT rose again only to defeat the corruptioner in his stadium and using his rules. The GOAT was victorious.

The final scene the Fraudulent one wilts to his knees in front of the Great one and stares in disbelief at the five magical rings upon his hand. The Great one stands dominantly over him and says, "Don't you ever DOUBT me again".

Fade to this...

It won't help him unless you have a Nielsen box or know someone who does and you recommend it to them.

And you still have to watch it, or have it playing. Neilson identifies shows by matching the audio feed to the television with the show. So putting it in a DVR alone won't do.
