Also shouldn't this be the beginning of the 2017 Jets: Futility Confirmed thread for this year?

It's what I always told my kids (though I used 11 pm) and why their curfew was set at 11.

But....the young men were in their 20's and not subject to parents' curfews.

This could be bad news.

in most states its illegal to record someone w/o their permission EXCEPT celebrities. There have been numerous court cases on this and if you are a "public figure", its not illegal. Personally i think thats stupid-why shouldnt public figures be afforded the same basic civil rights as the rest of us? but it is waht it is. I have no sympathy for the punks who accosted revis, but revis needs to know better and just walk away.

Can you point me to any of these cases? I'm a photographer (not a paparazzi, just a hobbiest) and this comes up all the time. My understanding is that if you are in a public space, where there is no expectation of privacy, it is legal to photograph or tape. You cannot use peoples images for commercial purposes, but the act of taking the pictures is not a problem. Pretty good explanation of the limits here-

If they were on private property, the rules are completely different, of course.

If the felony accusations stick and his contact morals clauses are as expected, this will help the Jets tremendously by ridding them of an awful contract.

Video is everything in these instances. I'd bet money TMZ has it.

Did the police charge Revis or the victims? If it's the victims, unless the video caught Revis striking them, they don't seem to have much hard evidence on directly him.

Revis took the guy's phone away from him while it was recording him and tried to delete the video and when he couldn't do that he chucked it into the street. When the guy starts filming him he ask him if he's Darell Revis who which he says "Yes". There's not much grey area here.

I didn't see in the criminal complaint it say the video captures Revis taking the phone away. It just says it showed them following him and Revis getting "hostile" then he walks away. Plenty of grey area.

If the report posted on nfl.com is true, that's complete BS for Revis. The guy who approached Revis should be charged with criminal harassment. Leave the guy alone!

Time to ressurect the Jets thread, On to 2017, Mediocrity maintained.

What's funny is that it's still February and I already know the Jets won't win more than 6 games in the next season.

That's not a crime unless he assaults and/or batters him.

Even then, if you were on public property and the person being photographed was on private property but with no expectation of privacy (like walking around their front yard) I'm pretty you have the right to take the photo.

I think he's speaking to the gray area that lies within the case re: evidence/testimony that Darrelle Revis was the attacker and not his "friend." After all, everything we've heard and read suggests that the friend entered the scene and sudddnly everyone was knocked out cold. I haven't seen anything yet that proves that it was definitely Revis.

It would be hilarious if after all of this, he ends up spending 5-10 years in prison.
