Crazy. Hope Revis is OK and those responsible are brought to justice.

Jets' Cornerback Darrelle Revis Hurt In South Side Fight

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — New York Jets cornerback and former Pitt star Darrelle Revis has been injured after getting into an altercation on the South Side.

His lawyer told KDKA it happened when he came home to visit family and friends this weekend.

While he was in town, he was allegedly assaulted by a group of five people.

Revis’ lawyer said he feared for his safety and eventually went to get medical treatment.

There’s no word on how badly he was injured in the incident.

Yikes... this story paints a completely different picture of the incident.

NFL star Darrelle Revis under investigation for South Side altercation

PITTSBURGH — New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, a multi-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection, is being investigated by Pittsburgh police, who are considering filing felony charges stemming from an early-morning street altercation on the South Side last weekend.

The 31-year-old Aliquippa native has not been charged, and it's not clear if he is currently in Pennsylvania.

Sources close to the investigation told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that two men were punched near the corner of South 23rd and East Carson streets. The incident was reported around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

A police officer who drove by the area saw Revis speaking to two people; when he came back around, two of them were knocked out and Revis was gone, sources said.

Bit of a contradiction of reports happening.

And this report is from the police.

Both could be true you know. He shows up in his neighborhood, exchanges some smacktalk with some of the locals, gets attacked, but he's a big fit dude, defends himself pretty well, does some damage. that would be enough to at least kick off a preliminary investigation to make sure he shouldn't get an assault charge.

All that's required then to create this contradictory flurry of information is the usual hyperactive rush to report that sends journos to Twitter with nothing like all the information every single day..

As we've seen in the past, Doughboy is not good at carrying his drink.
Betcha he sat on those guys and that's how they were injured.
Maybe he'll send Mommy to represent him in court?

I'm inclined not to believe what his lawyer says since he's going to defend him obviously. This should be interesting.

Don't worry, if Revis is found to be at fault, I'm sure Goodell will dole out appropriate, consistent NFL punishment.

He'll look at the Sheldon Richardson case for guidance.

Oh it wasn't edelman, amendola, Mitchell, Hogan and Floyd?

Considering any one of those guys could wipe the floor with Revis and he's on record as having dropped 2 of his attackers out cold? I'm gonna go with "nah."

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Wouldn't be surprised to hear that alcohol was involved.

There's really no other reason to be in the South side area of the city, as it's simply one bar after another.

"Terroristic threats"

"Terroristic threats"

Are you unsure of the term? It may sound serious, but it's basically nothing more than a throw away. You can charge someone with terroristic threats in just about every single altercation (at least here in PA), with many coming from domestic violence cases. It's basically threatening a person in some capacity and it isn't terribly easy to prove in court.

The serious potential charges here are robbery (for grabbing the phone...sigh) and the aggravated assault, but I'd be shocked if Revis was charged with either one of those. Now his bodyguard on the other hand....
