I think the only smart person in that room is big ben and that is saying something!

Last year the media and the fans got caught up in what Talib and Harris and others were saying - how they were disrespecting the Patriots. I know people have to write about and talk about something, but I would prefer this BS just be ignored this year. It is meaningless.

Disagree. I'd be disappointed if we lost in the Superbowl but I can be happy for either Matt Ryan or Aaron Rodgers.

I've known too many Steelers fans and believe that they very well may be the douchiest fan base in the history of sports. Imagine Jets fans, but with 6 championships. Winning a 7th isn't going to make them any more charming.
Yeah, I know what Steelers fans are.
To me its what the Patriots do, and I don't care what anyone else does. (The one exception was Manning because of fueling the ridiculous comparison of him to Brady)

I understand that mentality.

My pet peeve is poor sportsmanship. Steelers and their fans epitomize poor sportsmanship. That's why their success bothers me somewhat.

I have no problem with anything Tomlin said there. I do think it's not right to give one team a day's advantage though. Play one conference's semifinals on Saturday, the other on Sunday. Flip them the next year. At least then the teams are playing with the same amount of rest. That's fair, and there's really no reason not to do that.

If the Squealers wanted the extra day, they could have earned it by earning the best record.
Why shouldn't the Pats have advantages because of their in season superior W/L record?

It may be nothing, but it just plays into our correct narrative that they hate us with every fibre in their pathetic bodies. A jokey 'assholes' from another coach seems more pointed from Tomlin, who is one whine away from saying the Patriots are hacking into his brain making him go for two point conversions all the time.

Can't agree on Rodgers.

If Rodgers wins it, namely against us, the talks about him entering the GOAT conversation are gonna start. And he'll always have that win over Brady, which would be a tough pill to swallow.

At least with Eli there's no comparison between him and Brady. To me, Rodgers is Brady's final major adversary.

I think the additional day of prep and rest is being overhyped. The Steelers still get a regular full week of practice/rest. If they can't be ready for a game in 7 days then how the hell did they survive the entire season?

And that's why we're just regular schmucks posting on forums. True competitors would rather go out and face the best and put the whole thing to bed once and for all.

Can't argue there, and like I said elsewhere, the payoff for beating Rodgers in a SB would be hugely satisfying.

Rodgers seems like a pretty good dude and seems sincerely respectful of Brady.

Contrast to Peyton seemed secretly resentful of Brady's success and seemed like a backstabbing fake friend to Brady.

Regardless of how you feel about him as a person, it shouldn't change that he's a major competitor. It would feel very hollow if Rodgers were to surpass Brady.

Have you heard about Rodgers disowning his family?

I go to the Steelers forum to say essentially what I said here (and I also explicitly say I'm not there to talk trash) and the only reply I get is something along the lines of "we've been infiltrated by a member of the worst fan base in the NFL." Classy.

the pats getting an extra day has nothing to do with W-L record but the way the league schedules the divisional games. last year the afc 1 seed (broncos) had to play on sunday and got one day less of rest before the AFCCG.

Looks like someone finally got him to delete it.

Thats why I avoid other fan boards. I don't need to aggravation.
