I doubt Patricia gets a HC gig right now. Maybe in 3-4 years
Nope. Prefer someone with prior HC experience. I'm not even totally sold on him as a great DC.
So let me get this straight.. the Patriots organization which is a well-oiled machine essentially fully architected by BB since 2001 who has almost exclusively hired/promoted from within is the wrong place to look for a successor.
The second facepalm is for doubting Patricia.. but I guess you'd prefer a more successful DC who has won more SBs recently.. right ?
His D certainly wasn't responsible for that SB. Yes Butler made the key play, however it doesn't come to that unless Brady pulls his magic. Brady got us that SB win. Nobody can dispute that.
Coaches always take HC jobs. They do not turn them down because the team is bad.Of course I hope he stays, but put yourself in MP's position and I doubt he sees it the same way as you do. Getting a HC gig will boost his salary and his image by a factor of ten. There's probably not much left to do as DC of NEP, it'll largely be more of the same. What's the down side? Almost every HC gets a 2 year shot and usually has at least one extra year on the contract. If it all goes badly like it did for Josh, he'll still be richer, wiser, and a strong candidate for a DC gig in a few years. It seems BB has no succession plan in place so there's no particular reason to stay around here, unless he just really enjoys the gig and doesn't want the pressure of being a HC, but most people in his position are looking to become HC.
His beard is too unruly. Why is he not ready?
He should braid it.His beard is too unruly.

Any coach worth hiring believes he can take over any roster in the NFL and quickly turn them into winners.
The exceptions are if ownership will not let you do what you need to or if you think the GM you will work for is incompetamt.
I am saying it is extremely rare for an assistant to turn down a HC job because the team is bad.Are you suggesting that Josh wasn't offered any HC positions last year?
OK, let's look ahead.
It seems very likely that both our coordinators will be offered head coaching jobs. Are you suggesting that both will take them, merely because they are promotions to being a HC?

Or, perhaps you are saying something less global, that a potential head coach does NOT rule out really lousy teams. I agree with this. HOWEVER, as many have pointed out, the key is often whether the team has a quarterback that the team can build around.
I was thinking more along the line of the Blackbeard look. Braided with burning incense, that'll get players attention. He should braid it.
I don't wanna post another facepalm picture even though you deserve it.
The SB was a full team win, neither the offense nor the defense were "the responsible" party. The defense shut Seattle down for almost 3 quarters while Brady was throwing 2 INTs. Without the defense playing so outstanding starting at the end of the third quarter there is no comeback that Brady can lead.
You are just being revisionist..

Assuming Patricia gets a hc gig, would anybody be against Bradley for DC?
Capers? When was the last time the Patriots went outside to hire someone for as Coordinator position?
