I'm assuming this is because Gus Bradley was DC for a dominant Seahawks defense in 2012? That D finished 1st in points allowed, 4th in yards allowed, and led to his name being circulated as a hot head coach prospect.
Except the two seasons after he left (2013, 2014), the Seahawks IMPROVED, finishing 1st in points allowed AND yards allowed before taking a tiny step back in 2015, finishing 1st in points allowed but 2nd in yards allowed.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars over those 3 years would not go above 24th in either points or yards allowed. This year, they did step up to 7th in yards allowed, though they're still 28th in points allowed. The early Seahawks teams were also in the 20s in both points and yards allowed until Bradley's 3rd year, which coincided with the team drafting Earl Thomas in 2010 and Richard Sherman in 2011.
Who do you think was the real reason for the improvement? The players? Or the DC?
Then there's this:
Why would you want one of the biggest losers in the game to work for us? What next? Jeff Fisher for OC if Josh leaves?
