ESPN Banned! Imagine Kraft acting against ESPN reporters like Cuban did

He's a buffoon who lucked into a fortune by putting the radio on the internet.

Must be the King of Buffoons then if he was the only one clever and resourceful enough to do that. But, yeah, sure lets lessen the accomplishments of others.

Yo! Bob! Are you listening?
Why don't you ban any ESPN employee that you are not contractually bound to admit to the Stadium?

Because ESPN pays the NFL @ 2 BILLION DOLLARS a year $2,000,000,000...

Kraft didn't get where he is by being stupid, you don't bite the hand that feeds you, especially to the tune of 2 Billion a year!

Well I did leave for the most part. Also not a fan of his...endorsements...so to speak ill leave it there.

i guess i would frame it the other way around--cuban sucks (for the most part...).

Yeah, there was some skill involved but it was mostly timing and luck (as with many things in life).

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Of course it was time and luck but that's most probably true for everyone that got rich off the internet / mobile apps in the last 20 years. I agree with some of what Cuban is saying and doing and disagree with other parts but don't really see him as a big idiot especially compared to some of his peers.

Mark Cuban is a grandstanding jackass who bashed Brady every chance he could.

This "ban" is nothing but a temper tantrum which will be ironed out soon enough. He's done it before, he'll do it again.

Of course, given the quality of play from the Mavericks of late, he might be doing ESPN a favor.

cuban was luckier than most. he sold a company that had fewer than 600k users for nearly $6b in stock to yahoo.

the smart thing that he did was to realize that yahoo's price (along with the other dotcoms of the era) was in a bubble, and to protect his shares from the sale (around $1.4b) by selling calls and using the proceeds to buy puts, essentially locking in the price at no cost. yahoo's price collapsed from $95 when broadcast.com was acquired to $15 two years later.

That's why I added the reference to "contractually bound." its a contract. As long as he lives up to the requirements of the contract he can do what he wants. If he wants to keep ESPN employees off his properties to whom he is not required to give access under the contract, he is not biting the hand that feeds anyone.

Interesting to see how thirty pieces of silver has inflated over the millennia to $2 billion.

Yes.. not necessarily something a buffoon would be able to do.

The contract is signed and sealed. WTF is ESPN going to do? Besides, as ratings slide, ESPN only wishes to extricate itself from their billions in obligations as add revenue decrease.
Business relationships do not mean you have to pleasure each other. And if your "partner" is screwing you over, you don't accept it with a smile and a grunt. ESPN has a MASSIVE relationship with the NBA but that didn't stifle Cuban.

Do you honestly think that ESPN didn't write access into the contract? I highly doubt there is anything Kraft could do if he wanted to. Plus I doubt that he would want to rock that boat, even if he could.

Cuban is doing a publicity stunt at best, the NBA and the NFL are two completely different animals. Cuban is all about Cuban, if you haven't noticed. Kraft is all about the bottomline.

Re the Contract. I haven't read it, so if you have, you're ahead of me on that. But, I'd be willing to bet that the contract stipulates that the Teams give ESPN the access it requires for broadcasts, but does not stipulate that a team give unlimited access to its facilities for ESPN employees. So, if Kraft wants to limit access beyond the contractual requirement, he would be free to do so. If he hurts someone's feelings, well, that's not in the contract. And, the "upper hand" here would belong to Kraft and not to a network that is bleeding subscribers, as long as he complies with the exact terms of the contract.

Re Cuban and Kraft: Forbes has Kraft's NW at $5.2b and Cuban's at "only" $3.3b, so I think it's fair to say that they are both about respective their "bottom lines" even if they have gotten to them in their own ways.

Cuban…FESPN...Krafty…a pox on all their houses.

Cuban seems to be very petty guy. If you are going to deny credentials to BSPN, at least explain why.
If Kraft did it they could put out a statement that there are 11 of 12 reasons...

Yeah it'd be petty, so friggin what. It is funny.

Oh, then reinstate them the next day with a statement that it took you less than 8 months (or whatever it was) to fix the erroneous action.

Anything, virtually anything, you can do to deny **** the privilege to be involved with your team is OK with me. Cuban is an arso but **** is far and away many orders of magnitude a greater collection of aholes .

Whats the purpose of this thread? We've known for 2 years now that RK doesn't give two ****s about us or the team we love. As long as he's part of the "32", he's happy and he won't ever give a damn about us or his own team.
Um, that's 22 years.

Kraft, sold his soul, when he bought the Pats. Sadly, he is not part of the "Old money" of the MFL. Kraft was allowed into a VERY exclusive, prosperous business, that very few get to do. He will never sacrifice that for any fan, player, coach..etc. They will all have a wake up call soon. Cuban is in a safer place. I do admire the fact that he has enough balls to take on the "system". I mean, the guy predicted what is happening now, years ago. He's my hero. I hate PC, greedy, corrupt people. Be happy with your billions, but don't crush us under your shoe like bugs. WE ARE their money. Low ratings = less money. There is an affect.

It's rather ridiculous to start a thread about Bob Kraft based on something that Mark Cuban did...
