"Gronk" is related to his real name. "Coco" and "Mookie" aren't.

Okay... you didn't say that before...

So... Babe Ruth, Tiger Woods, Fuzzy Zoeller, Hondo Havlicek, Jo Jo White... these are all bad, right? Or do you need a moment to...

...move these again?

Also didn't someone post Coco's name is "Co"velli?

Joe Maddon is the most overrated figure in all of baseball. That smug SOB was overrated as bench coach on a loaded LAA team and always "overachieved" in TB with a low payroll team stocked with #1 overall and assorted other high draft picks. I do like Theo and Lester but disagree on an earlier poster'sassesment of why Sox fans (at least this one) can't stand Lackey. I haven't seen anyone more consistently throw teammates under the bus in all of sports. He makes Peyton look like a team first kind of guy. Plus I still like Tito, Napoli (remember the pictures of him tending bar and running through the streets smoking a butt shirtless?) and Coco (loved that brawl against dirty Maddon's Rays). Go Tribe!

Yea he is kinda smug but the players play hard for him and from an in-game mgt standpoint hes pretty good. He certainly is superior to Farrell in that regard.

Lackey is a disgraceful human being. To divorce his wife while she is battling breast cancer is pretty freaking bad.

He took Lester out way too early in that came against LA and got lucky it didn't come back to bite him in the ass.

Totally forgot about Lackey's wife. Thanks for reminding me of another reason to dislike him.

What G5? They won 8-4

Yep. Nice girl from Sanford, Maine. Went to UNH. Scumbag divorces here after a double mastectomy and during chemo treatments. Incredible.

Sincere question (cause I don't know the full facts) how is this different from the "Brady is a jerk for not staying with Moynahan after she got pregnant." stuff we hear?

Honestly someone who wants a divorce would probably be an awful source of support during that anyways. Every marriage is different (I've had a few) so I just really can't judge.

You do ask a reasonable question. I'll be sincere in my response.

My view only....

- I have nothing against divorce or people who get divorced. I believe strongly in marriage but sometimes it just doesn't work out and its for the best.

-If people have a child out of wedlock, so bet it. As long as a commitment is made to be a great parent then so be it.

-But divorcing a spouse when they are at their lowest point mentally and physically is where I have a problem. With that said, my understanding of the situation was that he was cheating on her while she was in recovery for a double mastectomy and on the latter part of her chemo regimen. Did he have to cheat on her? Did he have to file for divorce while she was still doing chemo? He couldn't wait? Maybe she wanted it because he was as you highlight he was a potentially sucky support system but that is not my understanding of the situation. I just don't respect him based on my understanding of what went down.

So the cheating stuff is indefensible.

But ultimately I can't really agree with the view that you should stay with someone you want to leave just because of health issues. Life's too short and I'm not sure a mentally and emotionally checked-out spouse is going to be a big help anyways.

****ty timing isn't a good reason to stay together.

Chicago is done today, Kluber is dominating and the Cubs are going with Lackey.

Is Kluber on a 4 day rest? That may have an effect but he is playing lights out and he starts strong but then around 4th or 5th inning he turns the autopilot on and becomes even more impressive.

Mookie Wilson's real name is William. Coco Crisp's real name is Covelli. They're just nicknames for ball players. We see it in every sport and have for years.

Now...if my mayor or congressman went by "Mookie," or "Coco," then I'd get behind Tune's point a bit more. Unless of course, either one were the famous ball players.
Thought Mookie was Betts, not Wilson.

Yes. No trying to get on a soapbox but cheating on a wife with cancer when her expectation is that you are being faithful and supportive is the lowest of the low.

I think it would have been reasonable for Lackey to file for divorce after the chemo was completed. With that said if she just told him the go fly a kite then I guess he was following orders.

I started rooting for them mainly because of the Tito factor, but I'm actually starting to love this Cleveland team. Seems like a bunch of no-frills, high character guys. To think they lost their best player in Brantley at the start of the year and then said goodbye to 2 of their best 3 starting pitchers is crazy. Fantastic management and the young guys have certainly stepped up.

The Cubs fans are really pumped. Their reaction after the top of the first was hilarious.

The ump is calling a tight box tonight. Wow.

Could the Cubs lose 3 straight at home? That would be something.

My opinion is Bridget got pregnant on purpose so she would have a free monthly check for 18 years. She knew that relationship was sinking and wanted to make sure she got a piece of his pie
