Dion Lewis Update

The most impressive thing about Lewis in my opinion, is his ability to get extra yardage. Guy surprising doesn't go down easily for a little guy. Not like White and Vereen.

He's very strong. I read he outlifted linemen at Pitt [don't quote me, but he has that rep]. and he did run right up the gut often at Pitt too. And ridiculous amounts of carries. Hell, let's watch.

when is he allowed to start practicing? would be nice to have him back...but the luxury of having white and added weapons means we dont have to rush him...or over use him when he does come back

Dion is allowed to start practicing after week 6's game and will not use a roster spot until the team thinks he is ready to be on the 53.

My gut tells me he will be back after the bye which would be @ home vs SEA- Nov 13th

they have to make a decision before that if i am reading right

A player who finishes the preseason still on the PUP list can then be placed on the regular-season PUP list. Such players must sit out the first six weeks of the regular season. At that point, teams have a five-week window in which to allow the player to begin practicing; from the day the player begins practicing, teams have an additional 21-day window in which to decide whether to activate the player to the 53-man roster. If either of those deadlines pass, the player must remain on the PUP list for the remainder of the season.[1]

Yep.

After the Week 6 game, BB needs to decide when Dion practices (within the 5 weeks you mention). On that 1st day of practice , within the next 21 days BB then has to either add Dion to the 53 or IR him.

i thought he was limited in practice this week? (meaning he already started)??

I get the feeling that Lewis is ready to go now, but has to wait the additional 2 weeks because of the rule. So I think we might see him sooner after the 6 week window rather than later. Maybe by week 7.

He just might be. The 2nd surgery was "clean up" and based on what I had read went swimmingly.

More than anything he needs football conditioning and his timing back. He needs the confidence that the knee will hold up on a sharp cut and a "tackle" during practice and move instinctively and not thinking about it.

He's so evasive that he makes defenders miss entirely or run into each other trying to make a play on him. He reminds me of Edelman in that regard only shiftier and stronger. If he could ever return to 100% and stay there, look out FUFL.

Let's just get the rules changed. That's what everyone else does.

Starting to get a good feeling he will be ready sooner rather than later.

I assume they will start the practice window right away and I doubt they use the full window. My optimism says he starts practicing next week and activated the following week maybe even same week.

I'm excited and hopeful for Lewis...but I won't get my hopes too high until I actually see him play at close to 100% and play through the end of the season.

*fingers crossed*
