I am the biggest moron on earth for opening up and reading this post.

The fix was in, in that Brady was out. But that's a subject we covered pretty thoroughly prior to the game.

Semi Off Topic: Has anyone seen a play blown dead because the Refs weren't ready??

This.

If the discussion is about influencing outcomes so other teams have a better chance at beating the Pats, it needs to start and end with Deflategate.

Maybe Blandinko instructed the refs not to give the Pats the benefit of the doubt on anything but I think it's more likely the refs just plain ole sucked.

Morelli & Co are simply INCOMPETENT

IMO Morelli is at the bottom of the refs spectrum. Also, I have absolutely NO FAITH in the NFL* referee review process, the ridiculous complexity of certain rules (what's a catch?), and the excess reliance on referee interpretation (OPI & DPI).

That said, we sucked yesterday and the Bills outplayed us. It happens, just not often thankfully.

First of all, let me make this perfectly clear. We didn't lose because of the refs today. The Patriots wasn't a good football team today and got outplayed and outcoached in all possible aspects. Congrats to the Buffalo Bills, they were the better team today.

That said, I just want to get a picture here to see if I'm becoming paranoic or not, but I had the impression that the refs had direct instructions coming into this game. The last time I saw something like that was the game on Denver last year, the regular season game.

Last year after many discussions the people who believed the NFL was not rigged, the refs that were bad, rightfully questioned something in the lines of "if you think the game is rigged why do you keep watching?". Well there might be many answers for that. Anyway, did someone that believed the game was not rigged changed his mind? I'm just curious. I think it was appropriate to revisit this subject.

There were at least 4 Non calls that should have been called against the Bills. These calls would have sustained drives and kept momentum. I was going absolutely ballistic watching the game yesterday and even the announcers commented on at least 3 of them.

That being said, the Pats simply lost this game today. Not due to crappy no calls(although that DID play a part of it), but because they sucked on all phases of the game.

Had a thread about this recently, because I'm surprised anyone really thinks this. If "the refs had direct instructions coming into this game," meaning, that's the kind of thing goes on, someone along the chain would squeal or word would otherwise get out.

Conspiracies like that don't hold--people are too stupid and/or self-interested to sustain them.

There is no point watching any game if you believe its rigged. If it ever came out that games were fixed, i would stop watching.

If that regular season game in Denver last year didn't convince you, I don't know what will.

How about all those phantom opi's last year negating big plays?

How about our QB being suspended literally for no reason?

It wasn't the refs who continually called a passive 3 man rush that let Tyrod Taylor of all people drive down the field with ease in the first half. The game plan was ****. The game play was ****. That's why we lost.

That's the odd thing. A three man rush means you should have a ton of guys in flying around in the backfield and Bill receivers were not just open but wiiiiiiide open. Like no player within 5-10 yards of them.

Wrestling is fixed and people still watch it.

I think if the answer is not an immediate and resounding "No", then the NFL* at least has a perception problem.

If BB DID think there was any issues with the refs, does anyone hold out any expectations that a formal complaint to the league office would have any effect at all?

At least wrestling drops all pretense about it being a serious sport. So far, the NFL insists on clinging to an illusion of legitimacy.

Never heard of Tim Donaghy, huh?

Semi Off Topic: Has anyone seen a play blown dead because the Refs weren't ready??

Sure. Remember that one call a couple of years back when the ref said "The ball was not made ready to play"? That's code for "We weren't ready for the play to start".

Not sure, but there was some awful non calls, few late hits/hits out of bounds that were blatant and they didnt flag them. One in the second half on White (I think) where he was easily out of bounds and then got shoved was so ridiculous
Home games so far this season versus the Dolphins and Bills have been wildly one-sided against the Patriots, in every respect. They can't even spot the ball accurately: they take away 1st downs from the Pats and award 1st downs to the opponent. Simple incompetence would distribute the mess equally between the teams.

Either that, or we all need to see our optometrist.

Looked like they held Hightower without a flag on Buffaloes TD and I think that is why Bill threw his tablet after looking at the replay. Fouts always sounds anti patriots to me and on that play he kept saying that was a legal block. Seemed the refs were told to tilt the calls against us to help roger save face.

If Hogan held on Edelman's long play then buffalo held on that TD.

That offense could have played all day with Gil Santos and Gino Capaletti as the refs and still would not have sniffed the end zone.
OK, but Gil and Gino, among the worst victims of it, would not show bias on the field.

And, with the many incontrovertible facts pointed out above, the Pats easily could have scored, and won.

They make mistakes, played poorly and probably deserved to lose...but, given the above, we'll never know.
