"hmmmm, if suspensions don't slow them down, maybe fining every patriot possible at 5x the going rate for other infractions will make all the good FAs think twice about going there and the ones who are there will get demotivated and stop trying so hard"

Patriots Tackle Cameron Fleming Fined $18K For Leg Whip Vs. Cardinals

18,000 for an up unpenalized leg whip!! what did the jesters pay for a not on the field coach intentionally trying to trip a player - I think was 10k. Wasn't that also Same as they paid for the revis deal tampering?

Fleming can't be making that much that that is a reasonable amount / % of a game check either?

The Revis tampering penalty was $100,000 and they got to keep the player.

I think Tripgate and the subsequent accusation that the Pats do the same thing was $50,000 for each incident.

I don't know how the Rats ever recovered from such devasating penalties.

How does this "leg whip" compare to Cannon's leg whip on the Panthers D in 2013? What did Cannon get fined for it?

As I suspected Miguel's page says $600,000 or a $37,500 game check. He paid 50% of his paycheck for 2 seconds of a 60 minute game.

And I haven't even seen the video again to see how legit of a penalty it was, refs didn't even notice in game

Fine can't be more than 25% of a player's salary, so fine will be reduced by about half.

Minimum fine amounts are all fixed for each type of offense, so not like it is someone is out to get him once they determined there was an infringement.

There are three levels of fines, approximately $9k, 18k and 24k (doubled for subsequent offense).

Wonder what the face mask fine will be that the bills player did to Marshall. Pulled him down so hard, it almost blew out his knee....that was pretty egregious.

Edelman fined today $26,000 for hit in Cardinals game. What BS. A week later

Leg whips are dangerous. Getting fined is reasonable.

My issue is that I do not think they are consistent.
We would have to see the leg whip to know if it was reasonable.

Imagine what happens when the NFL's revenue begins to contract. Edelman fined 1.5 million dollars for...

I have a theory on what ****dell is trying to do. He is fining a lot of Patriots players and will through the whole season. NFL players that could potentially sign with the Patriots will see how much they are fined and decide to sign with someone else AND/OR players on the Patriots would leave for free agency. I know its a little crazy, but ****dell is desperate!

I thought maybe Fleming was guilty of the tripping penalty and that's where the fine came from. I finally got a chance to check the play-by-play and it was Andrews who committed that penalty. I don't remember any replay showing Fleming leg-whipping a guy or the announcers mentioning it. It probably happened, but it's just odd that no one can remember seeing it.

Also curious that I didn't see any announcement from the league that the Cardinals player who hit Garoppolo low was fined for that.

Please , powers that be in the universe....please have mercy on us and remove this goddamned gigantic piece of shyt from existence on this plane. Gackdell literally cannot DIE soon enough.

Relax, people. Players get fined for unflagged plays. It happens with some frequency.

I watched the play that this happened but I need a close up to see exactly what happened. From the only crappy view I got it looks like the leg whip happens after the Cardinal player trips over fleming's leg/feet and then fleming rolls himself over and then there's a leg whip as he does...

At worst, Fleming lifts the defenders feet/leg up into the air. But it looks like he's avoiding getting tripped, but it's hard to tell from the normal view. No way was it as bad as the Cannon leg whip on the Panthers DE in 2013.

It happens on the play that starts at 1:56 left in the 1st quarter.

That's a positively grotesque sentiment, and it really bothers me that I share it.
