The article I saw - perhaps wrongly - says a first and a fourth for Bradford.
Comically, I came on here to comment, "You see? A starting NFL QB is only worth a first and a fourth. You guys are just in fantasyland believing Jimmy G will miraculously be worth some insane compensation for a good 4 games."
What do I see?
"Wow! If Sam Bradford, whom I don't think much of, draws a first and a fourth from a desperate team, just think what Jimmy G will be worth in 4 games!!!!"
These guys needed someone of starting quality - and they got that guy. If you're used to reading Brady numbers, OF COURSE Bradford's are unimpressive. But you haven't seen Jimmy G numbers over a season, and you won't see those numbers in 4 games. (Bradford completion rate was 65% last year on 532 passes, 19 TD. 14 int.) The guy's got 5 years under his belt in the NFL - not being brilliant in the NFL, not lighting up the league, but 5 years. Not so many years that he's likely to drop off the cliff due to age, not so few you can't tell whether he can hang in the league. He can. Appears to have a low ceiling (with that defined as "not elite.") But also appears to have a high floor.
Now you really think "Oh my gawd, that means that Jimmy G is automatically worth 4 firsts, 2 seconds, a six pack of heinekin and an act not to be mentioned on a family forum"?

Yes, he has thrown 1 touchdown in the NFL.
What, other than our Dumas homer instincts, makes youz think we're getting anything impressive for Garoppolo, when every GM in the league has to do like me and look at Google to spell his name right? STUPID STUPID STUPID.
I'm telling you, the ceiling is a second rounder. (Especially now that the geniuses in Minnesota have shot their proverbial wad).
And God forbid we see something like promise in games 1-4. I am so braced for calls to ditch the GOAT, especially if it takes a game or 2 to get back in synch with the team.
That said I am pulling for the kid. Hell I am pulling for 19 Jimmy G-to-Aaron-Dobson TDs.... not over the first four games, in the FIRST HALF OF THE FIRST GAME. I'm all about him succeeding.
But in the absence of absolute superstah performance, I don't think these "trades you make with yourself" make a whole lot of sense.
I had one guy tell me that the Ricky Williams and RGIII draft day trades are pretty much a good model for the coming trade offers for Jimmy G.
Now Sam Bradford, 5-year vet, is worth a first and a fourth, and therefore, our guy, who's thrown 31 passes in the NFL, is worth...?
STOP DRIVING ME MENTAL. I'm already there.
