Glad to be watching football. I don't usually watch Pats pre season games but this one was fun. I was impressed with so many early on.

Also worth noting after a bumpy week gost was a perfect 2 for 2 and hit every XP. Also his kick offs need some work but were okay.

Jimmy G! 11/18, 168 yards.

Keep this up, and we may have a Brady/Bledsoe situation again.

I'd love for Brady to be able to retire knowing he left the reigns in Brady 2.0's hands.

Good game Pats. Sucks for those guys that got injured though... preseason

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Gaffney is all that great.

However, on numerous occasions tonight, blount was moving laterally in the backfield and tried changing direction, for a loss. Backfield cut backs and side steps aren't his game. If nothing is there, he needs to plant his foot and commit to his size, get his pads low and go. That 3rd in one is a glaring example. Instead of simply going at the lb, he tries to change direction outside and gets locked up by both the lb and the dl that was engaged (iirc, said dl was out of the picture if he goes off the right side off the centers ass into said lb) and loses 2.

Gaffney was effective gaining the hard yard or two when nothing was there, getting his pads low and taking what was there.

Howe is saying dislocated elbow for Mitchell and out about four weeks.

They'll have no clear picture until tomorrow at the earliest. Need swelling to go down to get a clear picture of ligaments, etc.

I'm just passing on what I heard, Wool. You could be right. I have no clue. I'm just a photographer after all. Lol

As big as Blount is, he's never been an effective short yardage back. His strength is that, once he gets up to full speed, he's really hard to bring down, which makes him a hell of an asset behind a strong run-blocking line. But he's not the guy you want to go to on 3rd and 2, and never has been.

Basically, Blount is as good as your line makes him. He'll look awful behind bad lines and fantastic behind fantastic lines. Which makes him at best a league-average RB IMO, at least before the hip injury. Probably worst, if we're being totally honest. At his best I'd say he was about the 20th-25th best RB in the league. He may be worse than that now. I didn't watch the game tonight, so I can't really say there.

alright so I was very skeptical of Jimmy G but I was impressed tonight. I thought Jimmy played pretty good considering he didn't have much of the starters to throw to. He looks good to me. More polished than any of the previous seasons. That throw to White in the end zone was spot on. Unfortunately you make that throw to a skilled wideout or tight end. Jimmy's gonna be a good quarterback. I'm not talking hall of famer, but he's got a chance to be a very good qb.

I missed the game, but did you say Leblanc? The guy who I predicted could play, back in May just based in his college play. As I said then, only me and his mom beleived in him, but now maybe some others do.

He made a play or two, one being of the spectacular variety.

I'll agree there, although when he first signed here he was doing a much better job of getting his pads low and plantings his foot uphill. What you quoted was meant as a responce to someone who said blount would be a serviceable goaline back, which he isn't.

I'm listening to these calls on the postgame show and these calls are ridiculous. The general tone is a lot of folks are down on Jimmy G. That's not what bothers me so much as the reasons why. Lol

They're up on Brisscuit though. Mmmm, biscuits.

I think Stork should be moved to G.

Solder-Stork (reminds me of Mankins)-Andrews-Thuney-Vollmer. Let Mason and Jackson learn some more. What say the board?

Blunt can run with power if he wants to dance fine but for the love of god keep him off the field on third down.

Some good, some bad seems to be the way I'd describe his performance, so I can see people at both ends of the spectrum on how they graded him out.

If I'm Darryl Roberts, then I'm feeling more nervous today about holding my spot on the 53 ahead of Jonathan Jones & Crevon LeBlanc than I was yesterday.

True. Like I said, it's not that they're down on him that made me roll my eyes. It was some of the reasons why. They were asinine...a lot if them.

I'd definitely agree with J.J. Crevon has to ball some more. I don't think he quite surpassed Roberts yet. Jones has, IMO, between practice and tonight.

that looked really similar to when matthew slater dislocated his elbow during the final pre-season game in 2009. he only ended up missing the first two games of the season. hoping that mitchell's injury is similar.
