BB: "The Competition At WR Is As Good As It's Been Since I've Got Here"

the patriots already paid him $5m and are on the hook for another $2.5m guaranteed in 2017. if they cut him, that $2.5m gets accelerated into this year's cap. they're not going to cut him.
but now that he's got a separated shoulder and double arm amputee he might be red-shirted on IR to avoid accelerating that cap charge...

Woah, I'm a bit disappointed about your kickers comment considering our last kicker was tough as balls and probably the most clutch ever and our current kicker ain't a slouch either. Take that back. Lol
I just meant kickers can be finicky and it's ok. But not other positions

Quite a statement, particularly as it seems the competition is for the 5th spot only presumably, assuming Edelman-Amendola-Hogan-Mitchell take the first four spots. Still, it says a lot about the depth which is a positive.

Didn't Aaron Dobson tear it up in practice too....obviously we all know Bill is just saying something to someone else, and as usually it is not 100% clear to anyone who that is...

Last spot is between Carter Dobson Harper Lucien.

Why is Hogan a lock..Seems we have 3 guys all playing the same role in Julian, Dola and Hogan.
Besides being much cheaper than their tall, fast outside WR counterparts, short passes are much higher percentage plays, allow the QB to get rid of the ball more quickly and result in less turnovers. That is the foundation of the Patriots offense. It might not be as sexy as offenses more dependent on the long ball, but it is certainly less expensive and harder to shut down.

Until the field shrinks in the Red Zone. Then it would be easier to defend, if not for the challenge of covering a large physical tight end. Or even more challenging, two of them.

Offenses of all types are less effective in the red zone. BB has always tried to have tall, strong TEs, which are less expensive than , get open sooner and are better in the red zone than tall, fast receivers. They are also much harder to find than short, quick receivers.

Just think how good the competition at WR would truly be…if Bill actually knew how to draft WRs.
You had us at "if Bill actually knew how to draft..."
