Mitchell, dola, je11, and Hogan are locks. Think it's gonna be between martin, Washington and Dobson.

I think it is safe to say Mitchell is a lock due to draft position and the fact he has shown talent and some skill.

I look at a WR group that, beyond the 3 'locks' I mentioned, has

Martin (2 year extension)
Washington (cheap money, 47 catches last year, middle-deep capabilities not entirely gone last year)
Dobson (Mr. High Ceiling)
Carter (The kind of numbers [i.e. 1.45 10 yard split in the 40] that make people around here drool)
Mitchell (4th rounders don't usually get cut, looks confident catching the ball)

and I can make an argument for keeping any of that group, which means that, pending game conditions showing more, I can make an argument for excluding any of them, as well.

I forgot to mention this:

On one of Gronk's TD catches, he had his defender (Ryan, I think) beaten pretty much the moment he made his break, near the left side of the goalposts. For whatever reason, Brady waited until he was all the way to the corner before tossing him the ball, and Gronk had to get the feet in. The group around me saw it just after I did (I'd been focused on Gronk from the snap, and they hadn't), and we were all yelling at Brady to throw the damn ball.

Maybe that #12 guy will figure it out some day...

maybe Brady wanted to make him work on the sideline skills?

I don't expect Dobson to make the team, but I won't absolutely rule him out in general, and injuries happen, too. Dobson and Washington are the only two experienced true "outside" receivers on the roster. I think the team has moved on from Dobson, but I think that, as long as he's in camp and healthy, he's still got at least a chance to get the team to re-think that position. I just don't expect him to be able to take advantage of that chance.
I'm in lockstep with you on this.

Another red zone play had Bennett wide right, with his defender shading him to the inside. It should have been an easy TD on a fade, but Brady went with the throw back behind, and Bennett couldn't reel it in. My guess is that they were deliberately working on that specific route. If not, that's one that may have shown those two still need to get silent communication improvement.

i didn't think it was gonna be so short :/

was a lot shorter than the normal training camp practices. ik it was no pads, but still....

the gronk play in the corner was cool- collins held blond's jersey to keep him from celebrating lol.

if it's the one I'm thinking of, bennet shoulda had it imo

i'm interested to see how we use bennet in the redzone. will he be targeted like gronk? i.e. if he has 1v1 we either slant or fade every time? would make the redzone so fun if we could be in 12 personnel and split out each TE, making them shade a safety to both sides. middle of the field would be so open for tb

any injury update on cooper?

I hear you. I'm looking forward to seeing a 3TE set, with Gronk/Bennett on the outside, Edelman and the 3rd TE on the inside, and a shifty back (i.e. a healthy Lewis) coming out of the backfield.

wait...youse guys were there tonight?

and you didn't say hello to ME??

disappointed....

also, the program had Bennett listed as 83...I coulda sworn he was wearing 88...a rookie had 83 on...

nice eye candy tonight....I am more furious than I've ever been at what Goodell has done to the greatest QB in our team's history. Depriving US, the backbone of this league, the loyal fans that drive the NFL engine...depriving us of the chance to see this great athlete in his last years because of the egomaniacal idiocy of this ultimate rich kid gone beserkdell is PAST infuriating. I mean, I want to not only hear of, but SEE this scumbag dropped on his face from 40 stories up. I'm not ashamed to say it, either. I had these little kids behind me tonight , their eyes the size of saucers, cheering for the team and screaming for Brady and I couldn't help but think "if Goodell were right here in front of me right this moment I would beat the living sh!t out of him and make him apologize on his knees to these little fans".

Harsh? Perhaps...it's never been my nature to inflict pain on ANYONE for ANY reason. For this scumbag, though...I would take great pleasure folding his bluffing hand in public. He's nothing but a cheap, dime store bully and deserves the beating of his scurrilous life.

Yeah, the moment we saw 83 was a white boy, we knew the program had the numbers wrong.

BTW...do Gronk and Bennett look good together or what?

In fact, even though they were all in shells I thought the skill players, corners and safeties looked like the best talent on this team in years. We'll see.

Brissett....meh...we need a backup veteran I think. This kid is years away

Cuts could get very interesting this year. I'm starting to wonder if some of the STonly types might be in some danger.

there's this kid, #28...WR rookie...he jumps out to you every play. He was working with Brissett all night. I can't say I saw a play that he looked like your typical rookie in...I did see Hrper dropp a bomb that hit him in the hands down the other end of the field and I thought.."he better watch his azz in preseason or this # 28 is gonna leap frog him.."

OLine and injuries are the only things I feel can stop this team...oh and weird drop kick kickoffs when they're up 14 points against an inferior team.

I thought Carter played well and Harper was lousy. What the coaches thought, who knows?

I was with Tunes tonight...the STAR of the night in our eyes was Scar....this guy is 70! Running around all over the place like he's 20...I want Scar's diet and workout regimen. I feel much better now that he's working the O line.
