NFL Free Agency Thread

This reminds me of when Law Firm went to Cincy. Honestly it's a good move for Cincy assuming he comes cheap, and since it's not much of a downgrade at all from Sanu, a guy who just got over 30 million.

PFT has an interesting article:

As big-name remaining free agents go, receiver Percy Harvin is one of the few remaining free agents with at least what once was a big name. And at some point he’ll be signing a contract with a new team.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Harvin “definitely” will play in 2016.

The Bills, who signed Harvin a year ago, have a pending offer. Other teams have made offers as well.

Harvin has yet to decide what he’ll do. According to the source, Harvin knows this is his last opportunity to have a major impact in the NFL. As a result, he’s looking for the right situation.

That could be code for Harvin wanting to play with the best possible quarterback that he can, in a situation where he’d be at or close to the top of the depth chart...

Percy Harvin “definitely” playing, and teams are interested

Harvin is delusional if he thinks he warrants a spot at the top of the depth chart with that injury history

Edelman and Gronk ring a bell?

I'm less concerned about his injury history and more concerned with the fact that not a single team has wanted to keep him in their locker room for more than a year.

What? Gronk and Edelman are irrelevant to my point about Harvin.

Harvin is a constantly injured, locker room cancer who's looking to play for his 4th team in 3 years, still an unsigned WR several weeks after free agency began --- yet somehow expects a non-**** team to give him top reps at the WR position.

That is why he's delusional.

What you posted that I responded to:

Edelman and Gronk, with their injury histories, are clearly not irrelevant to that.

Mike Williams would be interesting. If he's in shape and has his head on straight, Brady could turn him into a star.

Well now Mike Williams is somewhat intriguing in a "bring him into camp see what he has" way. His 1st 3 years with TB he was a pretty solid WR.

65 rec 965 yards 11 TD
65 rec 770 yards 3 TD
63 rec 1000 yards 9 TD

Williams signing would be very intriguing. He has the measurables. As others have said, would be a great guy to bring into camp and see what happens.

As for Harvin, I think he could work out here too, but he would have to buy into the system. It would make the WR depth chart a little bit crowded, but if he was open to letting JMD use him as a Swiss Army knife a little bit, that would help.

Cumberland is also a solid enough player but with the Harbor signing it seems unlikely.

Honestly if it was my choice, I think I would lean towards Williams

Careers

Williams:
63 games
223 rec
3089 yards (49 yards per game)
26 TD

Harvin
73 games
351 rec
4020 yards (55 yards per game)
22 TD

Williams' best season was better than Harvin's best season
Both had an injury wrecked season in Buffalo

Williams something to prove.
Harvin believing he is owed something

“Maybe the Patriots are going with two teams this year“

I think Williams can also be a great player too but he may have a higher likelihood of flaming out.
