Not to step into a back-and-forth that I'm not a part of (well, actually to do exactly that), @robertweathers & @Deus Irae, but I think, Robert, the relevant question here is Deus' as to why you think contracts should be revisited annually when it's to the teams' benefit, but not when it's to the players' benefit.
This is not to suggest the team doesn't consistently revisit contracts (they clearly do) but why philosophically you're totally in favor of it, as opposed to, say, after Gronk wrote one tweet full of emojis and "ha ha's" about his extension really being a pay cut, you raged about how much you "hate this crap."
That I think is the question in play, although I could be wrong.
