Yeah who breaks stories this early in the morning?

Anyone have a historical perspective on how often guys sign with the Pats when they visit and then leave without signing? I feel like when guys keep visiting other teams they rarely sign here, but that's just a feeling.

Stallworth I'm pretty sure signed way after he visited. Lafell did too but I am not sure if he was taking other visits in the time period between his visit and when his deal was announced.

Well the Broncos were definitely talking to LaFell after his visit

Laurinitis and Long would be great additions! Make it so BB, make it so!

Ha! Yeah, right. Every time I see Ross post I think of how we lost the right to host the AFCCG, and potentially another duck boat parade. I've basically replaced Ross' avatar pic with visions of Harper muffing the punt.

@Ross12 should just change his screen name to "Harper's Muff."
Jeez, dude... That's harsh. Can I at least take this moment to remind the forum that my other offseason binky was Dion Lewis? 1-for-2 ain't bad... Besides, rookies screw up. It's not like Edelman was a world-beater his rookie season. I've still got faith that the kid has a chance to develop into a solid contributor for the team.

When he broke his arm his rookie season, he was leading all rookies in receptions, and the Pats were working on a 2-WR set featuring just him and Welker.

Screw you Jest!

That's a good move for the Rams. It's too bad that their defense will more than likely take a step back, though. If not, Fisher may have a prayer of finishing with a record higher than 8-8.

EDIT: Just saw it was a fake account.

He was also one of the few who showed up in the loss to the Ravens. I think Edelman did flash his potential in his rookie season. Opened the season with an 8 catch 98 yard performance against the Jets and ended the regular season with a 10 catch 103 yard game against the Texans.

Yeah, he definitely looked good his rookie year - certainly did more than Harper did - I'm just saying what he would ultimately become wasn't readily apparent at the time. I actually didn't realize that Texans game and Ravens game were from his rookie year, though... From what I understand, some posters wanted to run him out of town after a year or two here too, I don't know why. I guess there'll always be some posters who are like that, though.

I was (un?)lucky enough to be at that ravens debacle. Edelman was the only one who showed up. He was fired up. He became a favorite of mine from that point on.

would laurinitis would be happy with limited snaps?? collins and hightower are better

That's what I think it comes down to. There's pros and cons...coming here might extend his shelf life some...hell, with the way our LB corps dropped like flies at times last year, he could be in line to become a cult hero here if he steps in and does well. I see a lot of Mayo in him... Sound tackler, great instincts , gets to the ball carrier. His skill set is most definitely needed here since good ole' #51 hung em up. I'd like Lauranitis more than Long given the sudden potential we have at end (Flowers, Grissom,Shears, Rufus...)
