I'm a simple man, for crying out loud. Do I really need to know what color "cyan" is? ;)

:D

I think Ian might have it under control now, but I do think a single account shouldn't have the ability to ding/damage another poster's rating multiple times in a short period.

1 negative rating per account per x hours.

Also, maybe new posters negative ratings don't count at all until they have a certain amount of Positive ratings/feedback or post count.
I mentioned this in the other thread but I've already started removing the ability to use the ratings for people who hand out large amounts of dislikes or disagrees in a 24 hour period. I've already done this to a few people, so hopefully everyone realizes I'm not kidding. If you notice it before I see it, just let me know and I'll run the script to verify it

Other than maybe Zaffre, I'd have been able to follow along with any other color. Of course, a good portion of them ended with the word "blue," so that tells you all you need to know about my intellectual capability. :D

Throwing out Zaffre and Cyan is just cruel, though. I feel like I'm in a bad dream with my wife, going through those annoying color strips that you find at Shermin-Williams. For the record, I've found that nothing precipitates a good argument more than attempting to pick out the proper shade of paint.

Welcome and one small tip, be careful about diving into the gameday thread, it is not for the faint of heart. It should coming with a warning that says:

Abandon hope all ye who enter here

Pretty much, first incomplete pass you get stuff like:

"Welp, that's it, see you next season"

The gameday thread used to be a great companion piece to the game. And, yes, I understand some comments are in "the heat of the moment" but it makes me wonder, do some of you negative nanci....I mean nervous nellie...I mean those with a glass half empty viewpoint actually enjoy watching the game?

On Boston.com I avoided it totally. The reason? I would much rather direct my attention to the game I am watching than distract myself reading a screen and typing on a key board. Hell, we only get between 16 and 20 of those a year.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum. Good to have you aboard!!!

Thanks for the welcome. As for cyan, I never heard of that color either until I started programming websites. As for all those other blues that were posted later, I never heard of most of them and this is first time I ever heard Zaffre. Indigo, though, I knew as a child from ROYGBIV, the colors of the rainbow.

If it's really a big deal to you, just go through their entire post history and dislike everything back as revenge...I'm just kidding Ian! Seriously guys, don't do that. Bad bad bad.

It's not a big deal to me. I'm just highly entertained, and sometimes educated, by the nuances of human interaction. Decoding it is a professional habit.

No, just one. I like the agree without a post, but have a minor problem with the disagree without a post.
Those two are different. Yes, though, the massive membership is both like and dislike. That is why I worded it the way I did.

It is like "The good news is that although they had massive injuries, the Pats have a bye". "The bad news is that the Pats have massive injuries, even though they have a bye".
You dislike only TWO things, wow.

YES! I just about spit out my coffee when I read this!! Ha! Some of the best arguments I have ever had with my wife had to do with either my lack of enthusiasm for a certain paint chip or my complete lack of interest - wait - aren't those basically the same things? "Yup, I really don't care, honey...."

Fully agree with the paint sentiment. However, after 52 years one learns the magic words - "Yes dear".:)

While we have your attention Ian is there any way to block the tweets and photos from former Patriots? One more selfie from Traveris Cadet or Jonas Gray and I'm going to shoot myself.

Sh.t, I just gave you good reason not to do it.

How color conversations go with me:

Person - "What's your favorite color?"
Me - "Red."
Person - "What shade of red? Brick red? Crimson? Amaranth? Coral?"
Me - "Red."

Given the way the Pats churn the roster, that's going to take a warehouse full of racks of computers!

Except for cyan, which I learned because I am a programmer, that is how it is with me. It is blue, red, orange, green, yellow, etc. Yes, maybe "light blue", or pink, and now I have even learned "tan". When my wife tells me a color, I answer "I am a man. Is that red, blue,.....?". Oh, and after years of get her hair dye I have finally learned "auburn" -- or at least to pick up the right box.

Male dilemma: Asked to go buy tampons/pads, can't figure out which one to pick
Female dilemma: Asked to go buy motor oil, can't figure out which one to pick.

In both cases an incorrect choice is guaranteed to start an argument.

You guys hoping to move into new poster rating dealies crack me up.

Quickest way to a new poster rating is to send Ian the $18 and instantly become a "PatsFans.com Supporter."

Best deal in town and it helps Ian keep doing do the phenomenal things he does, so it's a good way to support him and say "thanks" at the same time.

I used to be like that. Until I visited a Jets fan board.

Brings a smile, all of us could tell stories about this part of our lives.

My current favorite is we have been trying to decide on new countertop and backsplash for the kitchen, have been dragged through endless showrooms and several times thought a decision was made, only to have it rejected at a later time. We have brought home samples only to return them. I have grown to the a point here I encourage "solo" shopping so she is not distracted by my "Whatever you like honey"... but there was a recent breakthrough about about month ago we came across a closeout on some really nice tile for the backsplash, that was a great day. However, on the dawn of the next day "buyers remorse" set in and not sure what we would match it to. Thus the latest household dilemna what should be do about the countertops, once again I encourage "solo" shopping so she have have clarity and not be distracted..

It goes on..

That's funny to read on this forum as I work with countertops (granite, marble, quartz, soapstone). If you have any questions or are in need of advice then feel free to ask. Free of charge of course. :)
