Steven Jackson!

The story that the team took Ball's # from him runs so counter to everything we've read and heard about how Belichick treats everyone on the roster the same that it's pretty easy to call ********.

You said McDaniels can go because his play calling has been suspect these last two years and he gets too cute. That's just stupid. He's arguably the best offense coordinator in the league, his "cute" play calling helped us win a Super Bowl. When Julian Edelman threw that TD to Danny against the Ravens last year were you complaining that Josh was getting "too cute?" I highly doubt it. Hell, the offense was looking like the best offense in the league last year after week 4, when the oline tightened up. Must've been due to his suspect play calling. Our offense was looking like 2007 levels this year before all the injuries. Must've been due to his suspect play calling. Speaking of 2007, who was the Ocoordinator for that team? Oh yeah, Josh McDaniels. And don't give me any of that "Brady makes Josh" ******** because the very next year when Brady went down and our backup QB who hadn't started a game since freakin high school, the offense still managed become a top 10 offense in the league. Must've been because of his suspect play calling. Let's take a look at 2013 when the injuries to the offense were worse than they are this year. Down the stretch McDaniels realized it'd be best if this offense became more of a power running offense and it worked beautifully letting Blount run wild. Guess his play calling was too cute for his own good.

So no, I wasn't disagreeing with your post to just be disagreeable. I disagreed with your post because you were saying stupid things.

In fact, you're the one that got butt hurt and disagreed with my post just to be disagreeable. Funny how that works.

And threatening me with your ignore list? Go ahead, I really don't give a ****.

So we are all in agreement... no other coach went 11-5 with Cassell as the quarterback

Your attempt to make a point that has no point is noted. Let's move on.

Anyone still talking up Jonas Gray didn't watch him play this year in Miami. He was terrible.

He brings nothing to the Patriots that doesn't already exist on the roster.

Steven Jackson was one of my favorite players. I hated how the Rams wasted his talents with awful teams year after year after year. I wanted him to succeed in Atlanta but obviously they went in the tank as well, and then he did run out of gas...

I'm actually a little hopeful that all this time off from football has helped him out. If he's even slightly better than Blount is now, this is a great signing. I'll be rooting for him

I'd make it 60% Belichick 40% Brady.

Thing is, he can't make the plays for them, but he calls the plays and decides who gets the chance. Cutting Milloy. Trading Seymour. Intentional safety. "Bill, do you want the timeout?" "Malcolm, get in there!" Coaching Malcolm up to be ready to go in there, for that play.

Man, did not expect to cause a firestorm and I may have been too extreme. My main point was that Brady is a really special player and one that I think even we take for granted. BB is without question one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game. I agree with your assessment that it could be 60% bill and 40% tom or 60% tom and 40% bill. Maybe even 70-30!

It means "Just Another Guy".

Gray had multiple weeks last season and an entire offseason to show that he can offer something and contribute but he did zilch.

IMHO, being a JAG is OK. This phrase refers to players, usually veterans whose current play and ceiling is that of a competent backup, who can step in as a starter if necessary. Gray did NOT rise to that level. Gray is a player who never made it. His one good game doesn't change that. JAG might be applied to guys like Bolden (as a RB), to Siliga, to Bostic or to Wilson. Gray does NOT rise to that level.

Belichick has always been know for using JAG's as contributors.

The story that the team took Ball's # from him runs so counter to everything we've read and heard about how Belichick treats everyone on the roster the same that it's pretty easy to call ********.

Ball's not on the team, he's on the practice squad.

Hopefully not much of a learning curve since he had Josh for a year. Interesting the circles of Dola and Jackson and Josh.

Welp, I guess I'm surprised and wrong.

I don't think Belichick or the team act like that.
Didn't seem like Ball thought it was a big deal. I think some players are more attached to a specific number than others. Ball seemed like he'd've let it go for an autographed SJax jersey. Too bad practice jerseys don't have the player's name, a Ball 39 jersey signed SJax 39 would be a real special memento.

Ball's not on the team, he's on the practice squad.
PS players are on the team and are contributors to helping them win. Hes been pretty consistent with that philosophy for 15 years here.

I don't think Belichick or the team act like that.

As far as uniform numbers go, active roster players get priority over PS players.

If Ball was on the 53 it's a different situation.

There is nothing else to this.

FYI...... John Riggins at the age of 33 carried the ball 136 times in 4 playoff games in 1982
