Damn

He never even went into the locker room, he was on the stationary bike on the sidelines. What the hell happened? fuuuuuuuuuuuck. Our DL depth is/was one of the huge strengths of this team. Look at how dominate they were against the Texans. This is a big blow. We were able to rotate in so many fresh quality guys all game. Will we still be able to do that?
Yeah, but one less guy to do it.

Sucks, but they'll be OK once HT comes back if IT WOULD JUST STOP NOW.

4 significant IR players: Solder, Lewis, Easley, T. Brown. Could include Devlin because he brought a lot to the offence. A number of depth players were also lost to IR.

This is the deepest Patriots team I have seen and with the games lost to injury it is a good thing. Because the Patriots play more games than anyone else they see more football wear and tear. BB ability to manage injuries and having a system in place which maximizes the talents of the players on the field is remarkable year in and year out. I honestly have thought he was the coach of the year every year and pretty much everyone knew it, but it is one of those awards they pass around.

Did not look good with Easley to see him laying still for so long. The replay had him angling in low and then just going down. I did not see anything specific, but you know I was in game mode.

Defensive line is definitely our deepest position. D. Easley, C. Jones, Flowers and R. Johnson is some real talent on IR and I still think we have one of the best DL in the league.

Despite our injuries I think we are the best team in the AFC and with our experience every fan base must admit we are the favorite for a return to the Superbowl.

how many on IR now...Ravens got 18.
Easley makes 17 for the Pats. This includes Chris Jones and Dane Fletcher who were moved there when they weren't activated from the Reserve/PUP list.

EDIT: Miguel has us at 18. He may be counting Rufus Johnson who is on the Reserve/ NFI list..

The others are:
Nate Solder
Dion Lewis
Ryan Wendell
James Develin
Tarell Brown
Darryl Roberts
Aaron Dobson
Trey Flowers
Tyler Gaffney
Brandon Gibson
Brian Tyms
A.J. Derby
Josh Boyce (NFLPA site has him still on Patriots Roster)
Kevin Hughes (NFLPA site has him still on Patriots Roster)

EDIT #2: The number will be 19 if the reports of Blount going to the IR come true on Wednesday.

We're 11-2 and the Ravens are 4-9 ...

Belichick is the league MVP ......

Hopefully by signing here. I'd love Branch, Hicks, Easley, Brown to be our interior DL next year.
While I'd love Hicks to re-sign with the Pats, I'm not sure they can afford to do so with needing to give contracts to Collins, Hightower, Jones, Butler and Sheard over the next 2 years..

To be a season ending injury, Must be another knee injury, poor guy is cursed. He was really coming along, looked like the explosive college star was becoming and explosive pro star. Really sad situation. Loved the way he was playing.
No, it doesn't need to be a knee injury. There are plenty of things that would hold him out long enough to make putting him on IR this late in the season.

He may be one of those athletes whose frame just cannot support the massive muscles.

Just speculating ........
Or, you know, he might just be unlucky, the way JE was. The way Gronk was. The way Amendola was.

Don't forget that giving extensions to Jones and Hightower almost certainly saves money next season. And then any extension to Hicks in year two and beyond is probably paid for by losing Branch in 2017. I think it's do-able.
As an aside, two other names I'd consider adding to your list are Ryan and Harmon. The way Ryan is playing at the moment, he's increasing his future contract value on a week by week basis.

we have a deep DL but cant have enough of them. he was really playing well too

Well, next man.....ahhh screw it!

Actually of all the positions we could lose someone, this one hurts us the least. Let's get all these injuries out of our system before the playoffs.

What's the status on Chris Jones? He was on the PUP and had to be activated. I didn't follow what we did with him. He's the only other "true" 3 tech DT we have besides Easley.

IR. They chose not to activate him at the deadline. Might regret that now obviously.

dude has two sacks this year.

Thats good enough production for the amount hes getting paid right now, if he has another IR year next year the chances of them picking up his option is slim to none.

And at least 4 of Chandler Jones' sacks are because of pressure Easley generated.

Jerry Thornton is reporting Blount is also done...IR

Easley's running out of chances. Not his fault though. Just can't stay on the field. Idk how this affects our dl depth. Didn't look all that bad

His first year was a red shirt year, they basically drafted him expecting to get limited production while he recovered from his knee surgery. He played in a lot of games for them this year and was starting to play really well, showing why he was picked in the 1st round of the draft and then just got an unlucky injury.

He is far from running out of chances... if they gave Dropson 4 years to get his **** together, they'll definitely give Easley that

Yup ... CJ just lost some next contract coin .............
