Edelman back at practice

Looking good for a week 17 warmup game.

Needs to be careful. I'd expect they're slowly easing him back in until he feels that he's fully ready. And, even then, they need to make sure. Edelman is the kind of guy that's so loyal to the club and his teammates that he will put them before himself. There's nothing wrong with that... unless you're a receiver that relies on getting in and out of cuts quickly and aggressively and you're on the mend from a broken foot.

That said, that is a sight for sore eyes.
he does need to be carefull, every time he takes a step it puts pressure on that bone. with a knee (depending on with ligament) it wouldn't matter as much as long as the knee isn't twisted when cutting.

Edelman on return: "As soon as I can but I'll do it safely."
Of course. It is great to see him on the field. At the same time, there is a wide range of times for NFL WRs with Jones fractures regarding return to practice, return to games, and, separately, return to pre-injury performance, with an increased risk of re-injury the sooner he returns. I know that Edelman's effectiveness relies heavily on quick, sharp cuts. And I cannot see what he did at practice, know how he felt, how his foot responded to the work. And I do not see his x-rays or know what the team's medical staff knows or how the coaching staff values each of the remaining games and might weigh his value against the risk of re-injury. So I can see little basis for having any serious expectation for when he will return to play nor his effectiveness when he does.

let's wait until we hear what Gordy has to say...

Great news. No expectations that he plays in the next three weeks, but much better than wondering if he could practice before the playoffs.

Should unslump our QB's shoulders a bit.

Man...if we can somehow tough it out and get a first round bye and get those two back...we are right back in it and I like our chances.

This is fantastic news! I was not expecting this until maybe the Miami game so we had hope he would be back for the divisional game. Absolutely out this week and most likely next but I would love to see him get 15-20 snaps versus the jets and 25-30 against Miami. Boom full speed ahead for the playoffs

The best part about Edleman and Gronk is knowing if he barely makes it back for the playoffs, Him, Tom, Gronk and the rest of the boys will be working overtime in their own back yard to make sure the chemistry is back on par. They don't give two ****s about the NFL's rules towards the amount players can practice.

Agreed but you KNOW that Giselle is gonna be wicked pissed at having her back yard lawn all dug up

I bet Edelman watching the last few games drove him bonkers. He wants to get back to helping the team and needs too

I've had Jones fractures on both feet. After a few weeks it's pretty painless to walk (mostly on the inside of your foot) with the right shoes, but the blood circulation to that part of the foot is pretty minimal. Although, I didn't have a pin inserted either time, so I still wasn't confident pushing off of it for about 6 months.

He's got the best doctors and a MUCH more responsive body than me. Not surprised to see him walking, but if he can make his usual, freakish lateral cuts by the playoffs, I will be in awe.

Come on, you know you want to thank me.

Sincerely,
HGH
