Gronk Watch

No surprise if he doesn't play against Houston, I think he will miss a total of 4 games, 1 month exactly and then come back for the last stretch of the regular season. No reason for any bad blood, that was a vicious hit and we are lucky he is not out for the season, let it heal completely, I don't want a limping Gronk out there.

From what I saw on previous NFL Films clips, BB is gonna keep him out as long as possible. A healthy rested Gronk in Denver/Cincy is better than an unhealthy not 100% Gronk down the stretch...

I disagree. They shouldn't rush him out there before it is safe to play, but they need the bye. When he can play he should play. That is not when it is completely healed. It is when it is healed enough that he can play through the pain and there is little to no risk of re-injuring it. Sorta like Amendola is doing with his ankle which is probably not 100% even today.

I kind of agree with you, I just think in this case it's all the same thing, the "safe condition", "able to play" and "100% healed" (or very close to this). He won't be playing through pain because may not be safe to play with a crack in the bone, because it's not healed yet, when he becomes able to play it will be after being cleared by the doctors so that means the injury is healed or at least 90%, the pain is a personal factor but at that point should be something a freak like him won't even feel in the heat of the game.

I said 4 weeks not because I'm being over cautious but from what I've read it's the timetable for his recovery.

The bone can heal faster than the muscle tissue. So he could still have a regular bruise (or muscle tissue damage) that still hurts and the bone bruise is healed. Sorta like Edelman will be if and when he comes back.

I think the pats have the jets game as the target . if he isnt ready by then , they will shut him down for the playoffs.

daddy still hasn't given the OK???
don't want to screw up that offseason boat party.

Rapoport said on NFLN that if Gronk doesn't play this week it's because the team is just being extra cautious. But he is fully expected to be available down the stretch and in the playoffs.

I'd honestly be okay if they held him out the rest of the season.

Gronk is the difference between winning and losing/not making a Super Bowl

- 2011: gimpy leg = loss to NY
- 2012: gimpy arm = loss to Baltimore
- 2013: gimpy leg = loss to Denver

- 2014: healthy = Super Bowl win

I think Gronk decides when Gronk is ready

I want a bye though. It's just not easy winning 3 games to reach the superbowl.

That seems like a random guess.

As do I, but if this team, without Gronk, can't beat Houston, Tennessee, NYJ and Miami to grab a bye, they're not going far in the playoffs as it is. Those are teams you need to squash in preparation for the elite teams.

if we had won vs the eagles, i would keep rooting for us to keep him out. but these games are really important now. hopefully back vs titans or jets

One game at a time but next TWO weeks are huge. Win them both get to 12-2, and Pittsburgh plays Cinci and Denver next two weeks. I think Pitt knocks off at least one of them. Then we will be sitting in the 2 seed with those two teams yet to play. We must win next two games.

which at that point means we need to win the last 2 to keep the 2 seed...so basically you are saying we need to win all 4
