"It was never a requirement for the numbers to be legitmeant."You can make a case that the NFL committed fraud. Especially if they worked out ad agreements with Yahoo and other companies associate to any redistribution of content associated with the NFL.
What a bunch of bad actors. Scam artists.
EVERYONE thought Roger Goodell (and you too, if you bought his numbers). It's the Bills and the Jags. Who the hell would want to watch that?
the NFL always exaggerates their numbers for games, not really sure why because they still beat everything else
The NFL got what they want. People talking about them and, supposedly, around $20M from Yahoo! to stream the game.I don't even get what they were trying to accomplish here. I thought it was to show the game internationally to those who don't have access to US cable tv. But, don't show the game in the US except for in the two local markets? Did they really think people with big screen tvs and hi-def directv were going to fire up their laptops & sit in their home office to watch at 9:30 am on a Sunday? If their thinking is they'll show a lot of games like this, it's like throwing your audience right out the window. I'm all for providing internet streaming for those overseas who can't watch here, but why cut off your nose to spite your face? Just stupid, IMO. From what I can see of the numbers, they got way LESS of an audience than if they just put it on regular TV that morning.
...another reason Marissa Mayer should get canned. The NFL got what they want. People talking about them and, supposedly, around $20M from Yahoo! to stream the game.

I logged on Yahoo just to check my fantasy team and they automatically embedded the video feed onto my page. I didn’t ask for it. It just came up. So should I count as a viewer? I clicked off it within about 30 seconds, once I was done with my lineup.
