Sheard hurts, wanted him to put pressure on legally blonde so we could get 3 INT.

If our secondary gets more INT than the Jets and we win, will everyone STFU about Revis already?

Man what will the O line look like?

belichick is undoubtedly thinking about the team playing TWO games in 5 days. no sense in risking injury when you have to play a couple of days later.

#28 in sacks.

Sacks are not the be all end all to grading a defense. Far too many people put far too much weight on them. QB pressures and interceptions are more important. As are pass breakups..

Opposing QBs are completing just 52.4% of their passes against the Jets.
The Jets have 8 interceptions. That makes them tied for 3rd in the league.
The Jets also have 27 Passes Defensed on 185 attempts against..
The Jets also have 21 QB hurries on the 185 attempts against..

Again, I'm not pretending that the Pats are going to get blown out. But let's be honest. Things are going to be tough with the O-line we have going into the game.. It's probably going to force the Pats to be a passing team. And the Jets have done well at shutting down other QBs..

They have struggled since the butt fumble game. All the games have been competitive since then. Would be nice to see the offense execute well against that defense.

I don't disagree. I think it may be like the 1st half against the Cowboys, we adjust and come out swinging in the 2nd half. I'm more focused on the Pats D forcing turnovers. If they can stop the run, pressure goldy locks, create TOs this could be a not so close game and dispel the rumors that the Jets are a good team.

This would be a nice time for White or Chandler to have a breakout game.

Or both -- I wouldn't mind seeing a heavy dose of 2-TE shotgun.

I like the Jets D but facing Cousins, Tannenhill, Manziel, Bradford and f-ed up Luck is not exactly the creme de la creme of NFL QBs.

Since Martin tweaked his hamstring, this might be a week that Dobson makes an appearance even if LaFell is dressed..

I love it that every opponent we faced this season is billed as the one that's gonna beat the patriots. It's free bulletin board material. Keeps the team on their toes and keeps me excited as well.

As long as the Pats can play decent defense and not let Ivory control the ball for 40 minutes they should hang 30+ on these clowns

I'm calling it now so I can look like a genius later if I'm right or be completely forgotten if I'm wrong: James White coming out party on Sunday!

After 2013 and with a better understanding on the new rules about contact in pre season TC and how this soft training camp is affecting players durability during the regular season, I think BB will take extra care regarding risking a player, even if this means losing a game that looked more winnable before, what matters is how healthy you are in December and January, of course this is a crucial game inside the division, but anyway, the Pats will get there, we are fighting here for HFA but we are not playing our SB here, we are gonna play the SB that happens in february.

Id not risk hightower, cannon, for the next 2 games if necessary, than we will have 10 days to recover on this mini bye to enter the 2nd half of the season.

Yes but for Cannon I wonder how he weighs it against risk of injury to TB. He always say next man up but a TB injury ends our SB aspirations imo.

Mason likely out too.

This is going to be a ugly game for the Pats O. Going to need the D to really step up.

I don't mean to pick on you but this is a funny posting.......one worthy of a "I...I....I just can't stand it anymore".
First, how many readers/posters have been following the Patriots for more than the last few years? If you have you should know the Patriot injury report is similar to the headlines of evening news: a kernel of truth contorted into a story. While doubtful and Out is useful to know who will not be playing/what positions will be weakened, everything else on the report should be heavily discounted in favor of who is active on gameday (or not getting on the place for away games). Put another way "phew! Brady is not on the report. I think he was on it for 3 straight years at one point, and each and every week I was worried ".

Second, the Patriots currently have plenty of flexible horses on both O line and D line to function satisfactorily. That flexibility allows many combinations to try to adjust to anything the Jets may try and/or have success with.
Then consider our main WRs are healthy (and may have key cog LaFell added), the TEs are healthy, our primary runner is healthy, Brady is healthy. On D our best 4 DBs (IMHO) are healthy and the most important LB is healthy and we may get to see a little more of what Mayo can do and maybe what Bostic can do when given meaningful opportunities.

Bottom line: if the Jets win this game,it is unlikely to be due to those who are on the injury report. And if it is because of those on the injury report then the Patriots are in trouble. It would reveal the Patriots depth is flimsy to the point they can't afford to have the kind of injuries that every NFL team should expect.

Is this the game where we'll finally see Scott Chandler feature a bigger role in our offense due to their slower LBs?

This injury mess is the whole reason why you want your bye later in the season. Makes a huge difference

The upcoming competition (with the possible exception of Denver and NYJ) on the schedule is so thin, I don't think the early bye week is going to make that much of a difference.

If we win these next two games, we're in fantastic shape for another AFCE title.
