Curran: "Pretty plausible" to think McNally was ordered to bring balls to 12.5

Which would only be relevant if the balls were at an unexpected PSI.

If the balls haven't been tampered with, why would anyone look at previous patterns?

They can't punish the previous patterns, but only use them to establish culpability for the AFCCG (which I agree with you about). But since the balls for the AFCCG did not show an out of kilter reading, how is the previous behavior relevant?

You need to acquaint yourself with how this process works.

************.

all of this over a little air being let out. i blame obama for how dumb the media is in 2015.
there are real problems and we're talking about a deflated football.

brady should have an allen iverson type of press conference.

Funny you should say that. From TB12's press conference this afternoon:

Anybody tell you that I deflated, if if Roger tell you that I was generally aware that it was more probable than not that the balls were deflated, and y'all hear it, then that's that. I mean I might have gotten one weird text this year about the balls, but if somebody say that I was generally aware that it was more probable than not that the balls were deflated once this year, then that could have been one weird text from that whacko McNalley dude out of all the texts I receive each year, then that's enough. If I get the text; I get the text, man. If I don't understand it, I don't understand it. I mean, simple as that. It ain't about dat. It isn't...it's not about dat at all - y'know what I'm saying, man? But it's easy to talk about; it's easy to sum it up when you just talk about balls. We sittin here, I supposed to be the NFL franchise player, and we in here talkin about balls. I mean, listen, we talkin about balls, not the game, not a game, not the game, we talking about balls. Not a game, not the game that I go out there and die for and run every practice like it's my last. Not the game; we talkin about balls, man. I mean, how silly is that. I mean we talkin about balls. I know I'm supposed to lead here; I know I supposed to lead by example. I know that. And I'm not shovin it aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important. I do. I honestly do, but we talkin about balls man. What are we talkin about. Balls?! We talkin about balls, man. We talkin about balls. We talkin about balls. We ain't talkin about the game. We talkin about balls, man. When you come into the stadium, and you see me play - you see me play, don't you? You see me give everything I got, right? Well, we talkin about balls right now. We talkin about balls. Man, look, I hear you. It's funny to me, too. It's strange, it's strange to me, too, but we talkin about balls, man. We not even talking about the game; the actual Super Bowl when it matters. We talkin about balls.

Curran is right. It is plausible. Without evidence, it's a plausible theory, and nothing more.
It's plausible that bigfoot and the Easter Bunny exists and that aliens have invaded earth.........

It's plausible, in that legit evidence supports it to a degree well above the Easter bunny, etc.... It's silly, pointless, and counterproductive to pretend that nothing about the report has any validity.

WTF is this?
Are you really making something up and saying Brady said it in a press conference?
If so delete the damn message, it is not funny.
while you are at it get some grammar lessons. "we talkin about balls" is not english

Pattern of established behavior
Being unhappy that the balls were overinflated and reading the rule and instructing the refs to inflate them to 12.5 is not establishing a pattern of taking air out of the ball.
You would actually have to take air out of the ball to establish a pattern of taking air out of the ball.

Are we going to go to practice and hear a coach tell and OL to hold if he is beaten to keep his QB from getting killed and then throw a flag when he is beaten, because of a pattern of established behavior?

My God, when did being able to create a theory on something become proof?

I think he is making a joke alluding to Philadelphia 76ers point guard Allen Iverson who had a famous press conference in which he said repeatedly, "We talkin a bout practice?" in response to criticisms against him.

My wife hates football but asked what all this Deflategate stuff was about. Her eyes were glazed over after I explained what was going on and she said the almost the EXACT same thing. Of all the problems in the world and with this country, the media is spending this much time on under inflated footballs !!

Bingo...We have Bingo
Explaining this whole thing to kids is such a pain in the ass but it's a great thing to do if they like science.

Agreed that it's not proof. But don't you agree that it's plausible?

Agreed that it's not proof. But don't you agree that it's plausible?

Its plausible that the Colts added air to their balls.
Its plausible that Anderson let them go out at 11.5.
Its plausible that Kensil took air out before they measured at half time.
Its plausible that someone paid off Wells.

Plausible is not proof of anything.
Its plausible that I could stop on my way home and rob a gas station, but if someone does, that doesn't mean it was me.

All a good point but if Brady "ordered" the balls to be at 12.5 then I fail to see how he can be punished for that. He didn't put a needle into any ball himself and he requested the balls to be prepared around the lower threshold.

I'd say that depends on what he knew.

If all he said was "12.5, damnit!" but he knew someone was letting air out of balls after checkin (even if just to bring the balls down to 12.5) and didn't order it stopped, then I think that's legitimately something to get punished for.

If he didn't know anything, then I agree with you.

I wonder if Curren's Deep Throat named, "6Rings" helped him in putting the pieces together.

That's the thing. I don't see anything in the report that makes it more likely than not that he was aware of any potential shenanigans. After the Jets 16PSI fiaso he asked the ball guy to take a copy of the rulebook to the refs before each inspection to remind them about the lower threshold. Honestly, I don't think Brady put any more thoughts into ball pressure afterwards otherwise we would have had more text messages between the two stooges.

I see that you did not get Gronkowski123's reference:
We talkin about balls.

Blame the American public. People care more about the PSI in footballs and Bruce Jenner's titties and they do about an organization known for beheading Americans openly saying that they have people in our own backyard. This country seriously needs to be nuked.

Tell me more about Bruce Jenner.

Looks like Curran is in the "shenanigans happened" camp. He feels McNally was instructed to take the balls down to 12.5 PSI if the refs left them over 12.5 PSI.

This is not breaking news. Brady said he likes the balls a 12.5. And he was unhappy when he found they were not.
So having this common knowledge, why is it not plausible that Jaz and McN did this on their own so they could avoid any crap from the equipment manager if it was found the ball were over the 12.5.
This does not mean that Brady had any knowledge of their taking air out of the balls once they left the officials locker room. And that is what this whole thing is all about.

Not only that but he was unhappy when they were found to be at around. 16 which is way, way over the supposed sacred legal limit.
