Maybe BB could take his cue from ol' B XVI and become Coach Emeritus, thereby still getting credit for wins?

Good point Galeb. Do you think Bill would want to stay until he get his fifth Super Bowl? ...cause I definitely feel that Tommy will call it quits once he reaches that point (2-3 years is my estimate). Even with a champion-mentality, I don't know how on earth you can sustain your ambition after winning 5 Super Bowls!!!! Anything beyond that is just over-kill

Good insight.
As a Brady fan I'll have to be rooting for him to lose the SB then.

He will just transfer into his new clone body, seriously though he will coach until he is tired of coaching

I'd say he bows out after coaching the Pats a total of 2o years. That's five more seasons, to age 68.

Goodell will scan this thread to determine the # of years he'll suspend BB for psi violations

He won't exactly 'retire,' he'll just resign from anything requiring press conferences.

I could even see him being happy doing something (not HC) in the college ranks, out of the spotlight. Just grassroots, love of the sport, coaching the young guys..... no more ESPN bull.

BB will preannounce he will retire after the 20?? season....and at every away game, opponents will fete BB with gifts and tributes Jeter style. The JESTs will title their tribute "What if" and show mock footage of BB hoisting Lombardis at the Meadowlands wearing Jets Green and ticker tape parades down lower Broadway....."What If" ........and it will be as if Rex Ryan was never born

No, the ultimate punch in the nuts to the Shield would be if BB handled EVERY press conference

Better yet... if he leaves the team... QVC!

"We've got some, well, there are some nice pieces here, and the silver tanzanite pendant is one that showed well back stage, made some good sparkles, looks like a real good piece. 99.95. Only 5 left. You know, any time you - look, you practice these sales, you do them backstage, you see what goes, what doesn't. We saw this tanzanite pendant backstage, it did all the things we needed it do and then some, so I'm real happy to see what it can do at that ****tail party Saturday. What's that? Okay. We're on to the laser etched zirconium earrings. We're on to the etched zirconium earrings. We're on to the etched zirconium earrings."

haha, you're crazy

Some people in this thread mention how Bill has many talents that could one day expand beyond the Patriots franchise. While I would not advocate Bill goes into business or public service, I think there are several people who would think he could thrive even in those environments:

"It's perhaps a sham Bill Belichick coached the 2001 New England Patriots to Super Bowl victory rather than run the CIA. It's perhaps a shame he coached the 2002 Patriots rather than serve as Enron CEO. It's perhaps a shame he led the 2003 Patriots to a second world championship rather than run NASA's Space Shuttle program. It's perhaps a shame he led the 2004 Patriots to a third Vince Lombardi Trophy rather than oversee a fair election as Ohio's Secretary of State. And it's perhaps a shame he is coaching the 2005 Patriots rather than running FEMA.

I hope current and future leaders of such organizations will learn from this most sucessful football program. The world desperately needs to clone Bill Belichick's leadership skills and the professionalism and team spirit of his assistants and players. "
