Wagner caught Gronk by surprised by Wagner. Only Collins and Kuekley could do that.

You can make an argument for Edelman for MVP. He was terrific. Made people missed. The 3rd and 14 play was as good of a play you will see from the Pats.

Defensively the Pats were great.

All the coaches said it was all about execution in this game because the teams were evenly matched. The Pats out executed.

Said the big play by Arrington that was given up in the second period was great coverage and just a better throw and catch.

STOP CUTTING HIM OFF YOU GUYS HAVE NO VALUABLE INSIGHT

Thought Seattle had big opportunities with read options. If Marshawn is on the other side of you, the read option was coming their way.

Should have challenged Nink with the read option. The Pats left Nink on an island a lot and if they ran Wilson at him more it might have forced the Pats to switch to zone or change their strategy.

95% of the game Brady was in complete command. Was not bothered by the rush around him. So even keeled. Didn't get ticked off by the INTs. Just kept rolling.

Thinks injuries played a big role in this game. The Pats were still significantly better, but the injuries in defense were big.

Josh McDaniels had a phenomenal game plan.

Patricia did a good job too, but the Seahawks have a high school offense.

Thought it was questionable for the last drive in the first half the Pats sold out against the run. Should have let them run.

Reiss with a bit of trolling of Douchenozzle and YARM in today's chat:

Patrick (San Diego)
Mike, talk me off the ledge! I am freaking out because I can't find anything to complain about anymore!! Seriously though, where do things stand with the draft? Do you see them targeting the O-line early?

Mike

Patrick, turn on one local sports radio station here in Boston, from 2-6, and I'm sure they'll find something to complain about soon enough.

Best game was against Carolina. He was unreal. And I dont care what anyone says but Carolina's D was excellent. Look at their D-line.

Astute caller wants to know why a QB doesn't wanna line up about 20 yards behind the LOS. This is the best we can do.

Inclined to say that he thought Belichick blew it not calling a time out at the end of the game, but buys Belichick's explaination about how he saw they were going to throw the ball.

COME ON I WANT ANALYSIS ************ NO ONE CARES ABOUT WHAT CHAMPIONSHIP MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER.

Hahaha McCourty per Mazzhole is a "down" because he was "invisible". Good lord. Also considered Blount being down even though if the Pats stuck could stick with the running game they might have had 100 yards.

Caught a few things towards the end of the show:
- Thinks deflate gate will end with a small fine. Says the league thinks they are guilty, but can't prove it. Says the league is checking road games, has reason to believe they should do so, but most teams won't cooperate for fear of the wrath of Belichick.
- Thinks Revis will resign if they pay him top of the market. Says if Pats pay him as top CB, won't matter if someone pays more.
- Excited to see how Garopollo develops. Thinks he's the next guy. Says Pats will start thinking about transition in two years (after 2016 season)
- Doesn't see Soldier being cut to save money. Came on strong down the stretch. Gug raves about him, says he's the second best LT in the league.
- The team has high hopes for Easley, but if they had a do over, would probably take Joel Bitonio (G, Cleveland), who would be perfect for the Pats.

I swore years ago that I'd never listen to WEEI again. I'm divorced, so breaking vows happens. Dale, Holley, and what's-his-name aren't bad. I think I might swear off Felger and Mazz.

Reiss said as much today
Dan (Sheffield, UK)

Mike, I'd really like to hear your thoughts on the Pats' clock management at the end of the game. In your view, was BB not calling a timeout in the final minute a brilliant strategy, a bad oversight, or a 50-50 call? And thank you so much for your contribution to what was possibly my favorite season EVER!

Mike

It was an unbelievable season, Dan. What a journey, and a great reminder of the power of the process. I felt like there was more external "noise" around the team this year than any I can remember. Because of that, I really feel like this team sort of did it on its own -- didn't really have too many in their corner. On the clock management, my sense of it is that BB sort of acknowledged that maybe he dodged a little bit of a bullet there. To me, one could possibly read between the lines in his remarks; he said that a timeout might have been a good thing. In the end, there is always going to be some unknown there (e.g sort of like fourth-and-13 in Super Bowl XLII; I'm still curious about that call) and it obviously worked out. But if you're asking me my sense, I'm not 100 percent convinced that he didn't use the timeout by design. Again, just a matter of what one chooses to believe. Let's not get too caught up in splitting hairs here. The end result is what counts.

What's JGs contract? 4 years? So team will start contemplating starting him in his 4th year in league...

Interesting, but I also think brady has at least two good years left

I caught a bit of the tail end of the show and heard Bedard's prediction of a slight fine/slap on the wrist by the league. I hope to hell that doesn't happen. I would rather they claim we were listening to head sets, and playing with 12 men than have some kind of "we know you did it, but we can't prove it" result.

I don't want this to just die a slow death, and I don't think Bob Kraft does either. I want that vindication. I WANT that apology. I DEMAND it.

I wish people would have reported more about what insights Bedard saw when he looked at the tape. It didn't seem like he had much to offer for his last chance at this audience.

BTW- never underestimate the depths of Mazz's football stupidity. Yesterday the 5 minutes I was able to stand included a discussion on next year's FA's. As usual Mazz would give Revis whatever he wants. But he surprised even me when he thought McCourty was just "decent" and not worth elite money or even the Franchise Tag. He'd let him walk. And so ended another brief encounter with Felger and Mazz.

What was so shocking was Mazz hasn't met the athlete in any sport who he wouldn't pay top money to. Agents have his number on speed dial when they want to state their case. Of ALL people, why he felt he had to "hold the line" on Devin McCourty is beyond me. Truly astounding levels of idiocy.

I read where Mazz chose McCourty as one of his "downs" because he was off covering others when the guy who hadn't had a caught a ball all season was racking up over 100 yds. I wonder what Bedard's response was to that.
