An alternative to puncturing my own eardrums

Here you go......should get the job done.

Gil and Gino are the Gold Standard. After getting back into video games in my middle age, though, Gold seems week. More like Adamantium Standard.
I think Sosci, though a little pedestrian, is a legit professional. I am surprised he remains in as good spirits as he does with Zo yammering and hooting over his call whenever there's a key moment he knows as a professional he must narrate. Zo is kinda shot - booze? - and sometimes he gets pretty aphasic and just snorts and wheezes into the mike, but for whatever reason (homerism?), I can put up with it. Gino and Gil were indeed the gold standard - my favorite radio announcers after the great Bob Wilson - but I can live with Sosci and Zo, certainly over the national guys.

I have a different perspective. I don't care for Zolak at all. I can never understand what he is saying, he is always shouting. Soci is fine. I still enjoy Romo, Collingsworth and Aikman. Tommy and Olson are good but a little to hyper for me.

I'd like to see Fowler and Herbstreit get the #1 NFL gig. Rich Eisen is pretty good as well.
I every time I listen to them, I think of college football. Eisen is eh for me.
Madden in his prime before he became a clown, was probably the best all-time.
I guess the question is when did you think he became a clown? I started watching him in the 90's. He was getting goofier by the year, but I still enjoyed him.
But the most entertaining crew to watch by far was the original Monday Night Crew with Gifford on play by play always excellent, Cosell just being outrageous but the real star was Meredith. One of the all-time funniest nfl players.
That was before my time and all I hear from my Dad was how great that crew was.
Huge fan of Madden and Summerall, but the latter's call on Varitek's Pipe Cleaning was less exciting than the time my plumber described the stuff he deep snaked out of my kitchen sink drain. It's like Nantz calling a tip in on the 6th hole. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are people on the opposite side of the spectrum who relish their weekly rubbin one out to when PSum says "pipe," and I don't wanna Yuk their PS-Yummerall, but it's not I.

Yeah that was pretty bad, but Summerall were pretty old at that time. Same with Madden. But I love this clip from Joe Buck:

Any Celtics game with Doris Burke announcing goes immediately to MUTE.
Any Sunday night NBC NFL broadcast when Collinsworth starts slurping Mahomes goes immediately to MUTE.

Love the MUTE button

Definitely no Johnny that's for sure!

Michaels still makes me laugh with how clearly he doesn't give a damn about any of the show and product sponsors he has to do ad reads for. Some of his comments about the games are great, too. When he had been stuck watching weeks of inept offenses, Herbstreit said something about how a team was going to score a touchdown. Clearly exhausted with the bad play, Michaels deadpans, "Heaven forbid."

The one quality that's really missing from most of the supposed #1 crews is that nobody seems to take the time to explain football anymore. Madden was fantastic at this aspect of the broadcaster's job. The new guys all talk lingo like the audience knows what they're talking about.

I'm having no luck finding this weekend tv schedule.
