I am really growing tired of listening the usual moronic suspects calling (Pats) games. Be it Tirico/Collinsworth, Nanz/Romo (hasn't happed in the while but will again), and all the other amateurish crews from the cable networks assigned to our games.

Has anyone here found a good way to use the WBZ feed (Socci/Zolak) and get it synched with the TV? I really enjoy listening to those two, but I'm guessing the picture won't be in synch with the audio feed.

I really can't do the cable broadcasts anymore. I might as well puncture my ear drums.

I have it on but their brainless commentary doesn't even register anymore. I am an all knowing football god and need no information from anywhere but my own two eyes.

None of the TV commentators really bother me, although I know they seem to bother a lot of other people.

Having said that, the sound should sync up fine, because I had a recording of the radio broadcast from the 28-3 comeback a few years ago and played that while I was watching the game replay on TV and it synced up perfectly.

By the way, I thought this thread was going to be about having to listen to Bad Bunny at halftime.

Collinsworth is a fan of the Patriots and always has been. He had a bad game on Sunday night. He's not typically that way.

Any Celtics game with Doris Burke announcing goes immediately to MUTE.
Any Sunday night NBC NFL broadcast when Collinsworth starts slurping Mahomes goes immediately to MUTE.

Love the MUTE button

Every NFL broadcast sounds like I'm listening to announcers in Madden. There are no iconic voices anymore. I could listen to Tom Brady breaking down defenses all day, but in a commentary setting? Eh. He sometimes makes distracting noises like "wow" and "oh" during a play. There are games I wouldn't even know it's him unless I see him. Romo makes really weird noises at times during games as well like "here weeeee gooooo"!

John Madden and Pat Summerall were bad ass. You instantly knew their voices. When they announcing, you knew that **** was a big game. Greg Gumbel and **** Enberg were awesome for the AFC games, **** Stockton, Al Michaels when he was younger, the old ESPN Sunday night crew when they had like 10 guys in the booth. I'm probably forgetting a few others.

Doris Burke is flat -out horrible. Don't know why she hates the C's so much but it's always been that way. I can't think of any sports announcer in any pro sport who so consistently either throws shade on one team, ignores anything good they do or just overpraises their opposition. Usually she does all 3 in the same game. It's very weird.
Anytime I watch a nonPats/C's/B's/Sox game I always hit mute ans listen to jazz while watching the game. So much more fun.
Only exception is Brady because I like his improvement as an analyst and he's always gonna bring some good analysis.

I'd like to see Fowler and Herbstreit get the #1 NFL gig. Rich Eisen is pretty good as well.

Madden in his prime before he became a clown, was probably the best all-time.
But the most entertaining crew to watch by far was the original Monday Night Crew with Gifford on play by play always excellent, Cosell just being outrageous but the real star was Meredith. One of the all-time funniest nfl players.

eh... there will always be issues syncing two mediums... if you try and it works, let us know

I personally can't stand Socci and Zolak. Zolak sounds more like a frat boy grunting and whooping constantly and Socci while I respect him feels LIKE he NEEDS to YELL every SECOND word whenever anything big happens.

I miss Gil and Gino.

I hear you, there are a couple of crews i don't like listening to and have tried listening to the socci/zolac feed on the radio several times in the past and have never gotten them to syn. So i just turn the sound down to the point i can her the crowd but not the inane non stop babble of the commentators. But since im slightly deaf that may not work for others with decent hearing

I have NFL+, which allows you to listen to the Pats' radio feed. Sosci is really good, and Zo is....well, let's say it varies. When he gets agitated about something; he's pretty entertaining. Sometimes he kind of forgets how to use his words and just makes noises. It's not Gil and Gino, but it's far better than anything national. You can listen to home, away, Westwood broadcasts and so on, whatever game you're watching. The over-air Pat's broadcasts are not available where I live, so that's what I have to do. You do have to get used to audio unsynced to the video, but you get used to it.

Just read your post after posting mine. We're of one mind.

...his Dexter-like smiles at the camera are creepie as hell

Huge fan of Madden and Summerall, but the latter's call on Varitek's Pipe Cleaning was less exciting than the time my plumber described the stuff he deep snaked out of my kitchen sink drain. It's like Nantz calling a tip in on the 6th hole. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are people on the opposite side of the spectrum who relish their weekly rubbin one out to when PSum says "pipe," and I don't wanna Yuk their PS-Yummerall, but it's not I.

Also has this high pitched whiney nasally sound, too. Not that it bothers me at all.

Gil and Gino are the Gold Standard. After getting back into video games in my middle age, though, Gold seems week. More like Adamantium Standard.

I was disappointed when I heard we had another Sunday night game as Collinsworth is deep down my list of favorite announcers. My plan was to mute the tv and listen to the radio broadcast. That didn't last long because the radio was 20-30 seconds ahead of the tv. SoI sucked it up and unmuted the tv. Honestly, CC wasn't all that bad. Perhaps because the Pats were on the winning side......
