Wrong about
You, six posts above.

The Packers tried to give Favre 20 million dollars for what would essentially be a no-show, do-nothing job, to prevent him from wearing another teams jersey.

So yeah... you were wrong.
Wrong about WHAT?

They didn't want him to go to Minn, naturally, anymore than the Pats would want Brady to go to the Jets. That doesn't change the fact that at that point they were desperate to move on to Rodgers. Again, they were willing to pay him 20 million to stop playing. As for the for-life job, he doesn't have it.

No, they offered him the money to retire him a Packer

The Packers had Aaron Rodgers, who they had been developing for four years, sitting behind Favre who was, in the end, clearly declining, and obviously aging, and Rodgers had waited patiently.

The Patriots have rookie Janeane Garofalo, who last year proved he could play a game that Johnny Manziel could handle.

So what's my point? Well, I have lots of them, such as the Packers having a lot more class than Felger, but my primary one is that talking about trading Brady or releasing Brady is dumb.

Exactly.

To quote Jim Morrison: "The future's uncertain and the end is always near".

Embrace the uncertainty.

Why would anyone want uncertainty when they have a top 3 QB?

Now Woody Johnson, that's another story..............
He would definitely embrace it

Nobody in a good position WANTS uncertainty.

But the FUTURE is going to happen whether you like it or not.

Brady is a top 3 QB today

.....and Woody Johnson is only going to get worse.

Let's talk about what we're going to do when Jones and Hightower get old and start declining.

Time waits for no man.

This is like saying there is a storm coming when it's clear skies all the way to Asia.........

There has not been, one indicator that Brady is slipping yet many want to write his epitaph. It makes no sense to me. I Will wait for actual signs that he is deteriorating before saying it is happening.

"This is like saying there is a storm coming when it's clear skies all the way to Asia........."

So if there are clear skies all the way to Asia TODAY, we will never get another storm?

We all get older.

In the meantime, I have never said he is deteriorating now. The last thing I want to see is Tom Brady leave the Patriots or the game of football. That will be a deeply sad day. I completely hope that he can play at an elite level until he is 45.

But he will at some point start to decline.

Do you want him to have a no-cut, guaranteed 7 year contract?

According to the excellent Barnwell article, Tom got a measure of say-so in where he would go IF (hopefully a very remote IF) he no longer would be starting QB of the Patriots in the next few years.

Good for Tom Brady. He's done so much for the organization is the player most deserving of having that ability and freedom.

Well, if that's the way you feel, I say let's not hold a funeral for a man that's very much alive and enjoy it while it lasts.

Who is holding any funerals?

However, the fact remains that Tom Brady, very smartly, took out a New England Patriots version of a life insurance policy last week.

Good for Tom - - smart guy.

I am going to enjoy the beatdown he gives to Suggs and the Ravens in 43 hours.

Ahem... It isn't exactly a fact. It is actually baseless speculation at this point.

Yep. Not sure why people are so anxious to get rid of an MVP caliber player. Makes no sense to me.

You're all over the place on this. I honestly have no idea where you stand or what your point is.

I am making a very simple point, let's wait until Brady actually starts to decline before declaring it so. Bedard's contention that there is almost a 50% likelihood of the Patriots moving on from him after next season is total garbage, how can anyone say anything like that not knowing how he will play. IMO there is an excellent chance Next seasons Patriots will be even better, and if they are there is also an excellent chance Brady will be every bit as good as he was this season, and the only way they move on from that level of play is if Belichick loses his mind.

OK, I'll play!

Trade their ass to Jacksonville or some other loser team?

ONCE MORE: Who is declaring that he is declining?????????????????

Please, for the umpteenth time, learn about the concept of TENSES in the English language. It is something that will have to be addressed in the FUTURE. I hope when he is 45 years old, but there is a chance it may have to be addressed in 2016 or 2017.

What part of "In the meantime, I have never said he is deteriorating NOW" did you not understand?

No one wants to get rid of him now.

How can you not understand that?
