I think the change in offensive philosophy is proving to be difficult for Brady to adjust to. I think he will get it as they stick with it but he's going from throwing all, day out of spread sets with 4-5 receivers to big sets where he doesn't throw nearly as much and only has 2-3 options. He is struggling to find a rythym and it almost looks like he's still in pre-season form.
I think Oakland would have had their rookie QB kneel on it if they got the ball back with 10 seconds or less left. They could have managed the clock a lot better, they did not have to give the ball back, it was 3rd down when they kicked the field goal, at the very least they should have allowed the time to run a play for the end zone on 3rd down and then kick the field goal on fourth.
I'm worried about the run defense in the 2nd half with Siliga out. Hopefully they can find a way to still keep Vellano off the field or this game is over.
no kidding because those are the only 2 options we have in the passing game...the rest of our WR suck, again, year after year. Where is KT and why was Dobson a scratch. I am losing faith in the coaching staff wrt personnel decisions
Oakland is the worst 3rd down offense in the league and they were easily converting early in the game. This isn't even a new problem. Out D is 25th in the league in stopping teams on 3rd down and we've played teams that are average to very below average.
It's early in the season and there is a lot of time between now and December. But it's still concerning.
While I don't disagree that the line has been disappointing, they do need to build up continuity playing together. It's a pretty significant change in personnel from last season to this one.

To change up a bit, what do you think of Wilfork's playing. I re-ran some plays and he was getting pushed pretty hard backward when he was not even double teamed. Hopefully, he is just still getting his confidence back and shaking the rust off.
I'll only start watching the game now, but stat-wise it looks like the same old thing, am inefficient offense, with an reaaally overreliance on Edelman.
On the flipside, I think a large segment of fans cannot separate poor play calling for poor execution. This offense has literally declined every season since McDaniels returned in 2012. If you look at 2012 as the games went on the offense and particularly Brady declined by the week.
