it's march once again and also in germany people are doing mock drafts. like every year we have our (in germany) famous nfl-talk.net mock draft on our message board. every team is represented by a poster or a group of posters, trades are allowed, but only with 2007 picks, players and future picks may not be involved in a trade. though i'm a packerfan i took the patriots like every year
here comes what i've done so far.
i packaged the patriots picks #24, #28 and #128 and got #20, #51 and #82. i know this trade won't happen in real, but without the possibility to throw future picks or players it's difficult to get realistic trade scenarios.
with the 20th pick of the 2007 draft the new england patriots selected darrelle revis, cornerback, university of pittsburgh.
some comments on my pick:
at the beginning, i would have taken a shot at laron landry at #9 or patrick willis at #16 (trades were almost negotiated), but both players went off board shortly before. so i had leon hall and darrelle revis in my mind for #24. hall was picked with 18 and i got nervous with giants, broncos and cowboys picking right before me and in need of a cb. in my opinion the value at the end of the first round was not there, so i traded up for the best player available and got rid of #28 . every player on my list would have been a reach at #28 so i better added a second and a third.
after the only alternative for me at #24 was picked by the cowboys at #22, i was very happy about my uptrade
what do you think about the move and the pick? do you like it or am i fired as pats gm?
